I think Rocinante may be Sanji’s dad and here’s why.
First of all, here’s a lil’ timeline so we’re all on the same page with this.
* Trafalgar’s age is “26”, but he tells Doflamingo that he’ll pay for what he did 13 yrs ago, alluding to Rocinante’s death when Trafalgar was 10, and when we flash back 16 yrs ago Trafalgar was 7yrs 7 months, making him about 23 right now (chap.724 pg.19, chap.761. pg 13).
Age inconsistencies happen all the time in One Piece so it’s no big deal. Honestly, I would say all ages are approximate and have some wiggle room. I think it would make sense if Sanji was a little bit younger as well.
-Both blonde, and Sanji has those prize winning Donquixote family legs
-Sanji was born in the North Blue but grew up in the East Blue (chap. 227 pg. 7)
-Sanji has an unusually rare blood type, maybe it’s because he’s from an unusually rare bloodline?
-Only crew member who hasn’t lost a named loved one, and Oda wouldn’t miss a chance to kill off some kid’s family unless he had something bigger planned
Sanji’s coat in Film Z is very similar to Rocinante’s
Why was Sanji working on The Orbit?
-Rocinante doesn’t want Doflamingo to find out about him, because Doflamingo has a habit of killing everyone. If things go sour and Rocinante is revealed as a marine, he would want his kid as underground as possible.
-Rocinante doesn’t want people to know Sanji is related to the Donquixote family because of their heritage. People hated and attacked them when they found out about their connection to the Celestial Dragons.
-Dad’quixote just wanted them to have a normal life and maybe that’s what Rocinante wants for his son too.
Or maybe it’s none of these, but one way or another he gets on that boat.
Rocinante’s personality suggests he may be a father. He loves kids, which is why he tries so hard to discourage Baby 5, Buffalo, and Law from joining the crew. He doesn’t want to see them get killed/arrested. On their quest for a cure, Rocinante treats Law like a son. Is it because he misses his own son?

Nice theory. I also think that Sanji has a royal blood or someone came from powerful family. He called himself Prince in Alabasta and also his rare blood type. So this theory is possible. Can’t wait to know the truth! 🙂

It could work but the chronology is wrong: Law joined Doflamingo’s crew at 10 years old and Rocinante was killed when Law was almost 13 year because now he’s 26 and he talks about Cora-san’s death 13 years ago (26 -13 = 13).

I think that should be Sengoku(Budda/Ex Fleet Admiral). We see that Law and Sengoku talk about Rochinante. If Sengoku thinks of rochinante as a son, then he must also have helped in hiding sanji. Just imagnie Sanji’s second name is Donquixote. Now that would be a blast!

Where did you find that Sanji has an unusually rare blood type?
In the fishmanisland arc. Chopper screams it, when sanji has lost too much blood caused by the mermaids. (Sry for my bad english.)

But in One Piece there are.no Spain or France- that’s a concept we as the viewers/readers have introduced to the show.
This is indeed one of the possible theories I read, considering all the circumstances present i.e. his legs, his elegant table manner fighting style and cooking, his smoking habit, except the ladies man part, and the part where he hasn’t lost anyone yet except that his Head Chef/mentor lost a leg.
Anyhow, just because of sanji’s personnality, I’m quite sure that he comes from a great family. He may be a celestial dragon like quixote…
This may be true… coz Sanji and Corazon has similar thin legs…and both of their hair colour is the same!

The end of episode 702 blew my mind. Rosinantes voice is very similar to Sanji’s which could be another hint, that Sanji is his son. We’ll hopefully find out soon.
Yes I really agree with you especially because roci was working with the navy and sanji was first working in a marine ship cuisine so maybe roci made a deal with sengoku or smth to let his son work in a marine ship and have a normal life and never tell him about his true father
Or the fact that Sanji’s right eye is covered from the first time we see him? Rocinante has that tattoo or whatever it is and maybe Sanji has a same one as well.

After a quite some time I came back here because I just read One Piece chapter 801. It’s mostly about Straw Hats new bounty, but. This time that never happens before. Sanji’s bounty somewhat written “Only Alive”, while every bounties that exist written “Dead or Alive”, Sanji got “Only Alive”.
It’s not explained yet, but I think it’s related to this theory again.
Damn i love this Theory! I love cora- san and I would love to learn that Sanji is his son .. That’s true he looks elegant and polite like a noble do but when it comes to women he is something else XD . I wish Oda will reveal to us some day his past … and I mean his parents …

I am sure that Sanji is the son of one of the Gorosei.Among the gorosei there is one that look exactly like sanji’older version(Even same hair colour and style).That guy might be Sanji’s father.Before timeskip Sanji’s poster didnt look like him so his father couldnt recognise.But now he recignised his own son and is thinking of protecting him.
That’s true, and actually sanji outfit is almost the same as the Gorosei. I believe that hi is really a prince by been the son of the blonde hair Gorosei. Besides if sanji say that his a prince in public and his going( with the entire crew) against the World Goverment it would be a tremendous turn-table for the whole story, proving his words to Kuma in Thriller Bark arc and proving the real power of the Will of the D.
yup this is correct. im sure chapter 8 is going to reveal that sanji saved his crew from jack by telling jack who sanji’s father is and turning himself in to him, kinda like what he was going to do with kuma.
So i was comparing pictures of Sanji and Rocinante and something which I believe was overlooked became very clear. I have another resemblance to add to this list. Roci’s lipstick and purple eye makeup. When Sanji was stuck on the okama island he had purple eye makeup and dark red lipstick. Is it a coincidence?
1 year later. right now before sanji’s dad is going to be unvieled, riconante is still a possible candidate, if hes still alive

…..If Sanji would have been an outcome of a D and a royal…… that would leave some questions…but also solve alot. Like the reason he went on that boat.
If they make 1 episode in the end of 2016 saying: yep it was just one of the cooks on his old boat… I’m gonna freak out
