Akainu and the rebels – Yakuza connections of the Admirals

Hello once again everyone and welcome back to yet another theory for your entertainment. This time I shall be discussing the yakuza connections of the admirals but this mostly focuses around Akainu.

First of all, why does the WG seem more like a mafia or yakuza? The way they dress, the way their meetings are held etc.. Does the fact that the 4 admirals are based off actors from the yakuza film era seem strange?
(Everyone knows this trivia)

AKAINU SAKAZUKI

Akainu is based off actor Bunta Sugawara or more specifically, his role in the popular yakuza film series Battles Without Honor and Humanity. In this movie series, Bunta was apart of a yakuza that was trying to shed their yakuza image and make Bunta retire. I’ll get more into Akainu later.

AOKIJI KUZAN

Aokiji is based off Yusaku Matsuda character in Detective Story (1983). In Detective Story, Matsuda was a detective who was hired to watch over a rich goal named Noami much to his annoyance. Things get complicated when Naomi’s mother is suspected of murdering a love hotel manager so Matsuda and Naomi investigates the crime and it leads them to the yakuza. Matsuda also starred as the main yakuza villian of the 1989 filmBlack Rain by Ridley Scott. In the movie, the lead character went deeper and deeper into the criminal undergound until he was lead the Matsuda’s character who was the main villain.

Kuzan’s actions are pretty similar to the movies. He is pretty much an undercover detective playing the villain in order to dig deeper into the underworld.

KIZARU BORSALINO

Kizaru is based off Kunie Tanaka’s character from Battles Without Honor and Humanity and Truck Yaro. In Battles Without Honor and Humanity, Kuine Tanaka was in the same yakuza as Bunta Sugiwara and was one of the people voting for Bunta to retire. Bunta and Tanaka also starred together in the comedy Truck Yaro.

FUJITORA ISSHO

Fujitora is based off Shintaro Katsu’s character from the Zatoichi series. During his training, Zatoichi was a member of the yakuza and killed many people. Regretting his actions, Zatoichi left the yakuza and became a compassionate man, helping as many people as he could during his travels. His endeavors led to Zatoichi being loved by many. However, since Zatoichi abandoned the yakuza, yakuza placed it bounty on his head and are hunting him.

Judging from this, it seems Fujitora blinded himself as punishment and also because he couldn’t stand seeing the suffering he caused(kind of cowardly). Fujitora was probably a criminal and seeks atonement for his actions and believes the WG isn’t what it should be since it failed to catch monsters like him.
Zatoichi- was hunted by the yakuza because he left them. Fujitora came to the “yakuza” to change them.

Funta’s Shozo Hirono- didn’t want his yakuza group to change by shedding their yakuza image. Akainu only cares about the image of himself and the marines.

Coincidence that Fujitora and Akainu lashed out at one another over the image of the marines?

********************

Now to Akainu’s past. As I said earlier, Akainu is inspired by the character Shozo Hirono in Battles Without Honor and Humanity. Hirono was an ex-soldier and street thug who was involved in violent yakuza wars. Hirono was sent to prison many times but soon enough, his yakuza group wanted to shed its image and wanted Hirono to retire, as he was one of the main reasons the group was still viewed as a yakuza. At the end of the film series, after many of his friends were killed, Hirono retired.

Kuzan said that “the grass was greener on the other side” so you can probably guess what I’m trying to say; before the marines, Akainu was involved in criminal affairs. Heck…’Sakazuki’ means “sake cups” and they are for yakuza initiation ceremonies.

As a kid, Akainu is carrying a knife and has a cap that says “justice”. It seems even at a young age, Akainu was killing criminals. Maybe the reason Akainu is so extreme about killing criminals is because he experienced it first hand.

Probably the only thing Akainu hates more than criminals are traitors.

Here, Akainu deems a random marine a traitor for running away from the Marineford War and kills him.

Check Akainu’s dialogue when speaking to Jinbe.

Akainu tried killing Coby cause he deemed Coby a traitor.

After all, Akainu is a member of the rebel faction.

The rebel faction focuses on the findig and demise of those who has turned their backs on the world government. Who are some traitors?

I believed Dragon was a former CP0 agent and that would make the greatest traitor in WG’s history and an obvious target of Akainu. Akainu even knew that Luffy was Dragon’s son even before Sengoku told all of the marines.

As for Bonney, though it is unknown that BB knew of her worht or not, the person who was sent/volunteered to retrieve Bonney was Akainu and he said that she FLED aka RAN AWAY from the World Government. Not the marines.

According to this chart that Oda made, Aakinu is STILL hunting for Bonney and lets not ignore how Bonney’s Post-TS attire is a hoodie to conceal her face.

Why is Akainu hunting for Bonney? Business with Big Mam but that is a theory for another time.

You do NOT leave the yakuza nor do you leave the WG. There will be people coming after your head.

    Shanks and Blackbeard

Here is a guess about these two characters.

I find it suspicious how Shanks was implicated into the whole Ace and Teach fight. We know that Rayleigh knows about the void century, the will of D, he knows everything. It is the same for Shanks, problably, since he was in Roger’s crew as well.
Going with this, I believe that Shanks try to find “that man” that Crocus, and Whitebeard were talking about. Of course we know it’s Luffy, but Shanks as a character, I think his duty is to find that man, and he kinda did it with Luffy and the whole bet about the new generation.

Here is another example of Shanks ‘duty’ when he says to Cody that these few seconds of courage “have just made a huge difference in the fate of the world”, and these seconds of courage have indeed, distracted Kizaru’s shot that was going to finish Luffy. Shanks definitely sees luffy as the man that will change the world, the man awaited by Roger and co.

Now about the Ace vs Teach confrontation. Why did Shanks want to prevent this? “It’s not yet time for them to face each other!!” What is the meaning of that line? Is it the idea of two “D” confronting each other? It make me think about Luffy vs Teach. Two “D” confronting each other might inevitably lead to big changes in the world? That’s the case for Ace vs Teach, and it will probably be the case when Luffy will face Teach.

Now about the relationship between Shanks and Teach:

Why is he so concerned about Teach? Yes, there is the scar, but that’s it? I think it goes way beyond that. Now, theory time. I think that Shanks was friend with Teach.

I don’t think that Shanks could have deduces all of this, simply by having a fight against Teach. Shanks knows him pretty well, his ambition, his dream, his real power and so on. Why didn’t he say all of this to WB? First, because WB would not care and Shanks knows it, secondly, Oda might keep all of this for a flasback involving Shanks and Teach.

Now about the scar, the most important element:

“What ashes me now, is this one”. Really? Shanks lost his arm, suffered various wounds, he is an emperor, yet this simple scar would hurt him? I think the meaning behind this line, is that Shanks suffers from this scar because of the meaning behind it, not physically. If they were friends, I can totally imagine Teach betraying Shanks for some reasons.

But when would they meet? Why would they talk each other? Why would they become friends?

“This wound isn’t from my adventures”. I think it’s safe to say that by “adventures” Shanks means his journey with Roger, and his journey with his own crew.
    Here is a timeline:

I think that longtime ago, after Roger’s death, Shanks met Teach and have seen in him the man that was awaited by Roger and co. Teach is a D, and Shanks could have been interested by him just like he was with Luffy. Shanks made a mistake and picked the wrong guy, that’s my guess. Why is Teach so confident about his fate? What does he know about the D? I think he knows almost everthing, thanx to Shanks. And that’s why Shanks might be so concerned by Teach. He was still young, and he made a mistake. He told him everything. Learning from his mistakes, he then did the opposite with Luffy, telling him nothing but just giving him hope and motives.

Why did they fight? Being a nobody (Teach’s childhood picture), I guess that knowing all of this story and his incredible fate, it changed him. He might have become greedy and power hungry from this moment.

    And now:

They will probably end all of this with a fight.
So yea, that’s my 2cents about this.

SANJI’S NEW ABILITY – BLACK FLAMES/BLACK LEG SANJI

      *Short theory by Cleveland
We have seen that armament haki can be used with devil fruit abilities already – example of this would be Luffy with Gear 4th – he still remains rubber, even though he uses armament

Second person would be Vergo – i believe he used it in combination with his powers, could be some kind of devil fruit, but it doesn’t have to be

So Sanji is called Black-Legged Sanji..but why..when his leg is red? ..joke

In the future – soon(Big Mom) he will use armament haki on his abilities on leg and it will turn into armament haki flames – Black Flames and he will be Black Leg Sanji

Black Flames could be higher than any other flames..maybe Kizaru can use armament on his devil fruit too ? It will be Battle of Black Flame and Black Light ?

        FUTURE ADMIRALS theory

The future admirals will be Coby, Sentomaru and Smoker. These three all have one thing in common. They have some similarities to the 3 strongest marines in Roger’s era i.e. Garp, Sengoku and Zerphy.

        1.Garp e Coby:

        12

-Base of operation: Both are located at the hq.
-Fighting style: Hand to hand combat. Some elements of their fighting styles are similar since Coby is Garp’s apprentice
-Partners: Garp had Bogard while Coby has Helmeppo. Both partners carry a bladed weapon.

        34

-Both have a deep trust with their pirate rival: Garp with Roger, Coby with Luffy
-Sense of justice: Their sense of justice is the same. They will sit and drink with pirates they consider as friends but when the tym comes they will hunt them down without holding back.

Coby will surpass Garp and inherit his will. He will also inherit part of Garps nickname just like Sanji inherited the “leg” from Zeref.

        2. Sengoku and Sentomaru:

        56

-Appearance: When Sengoku is using his df he turns into a Buddha giant. He looks similar to a sumo wrestler which is similar to Sentomaru.
        -Fighting style:

-Both use their palms to fight. Both their palms release energy blasts. Sengokus is a shockwave while Sentomaru is a CoA haki blast.
-Sense of justice:Both follow a similar sense of justice. They have respect for pirates who they feel deserve respect. They both are disgusted with pirates who are not worthy of their respect. They will fight them without holding back. They don’t hate pirates but they feel that it is their duty as marines to stop them.

Sentomaru will surpass Sengoku and will inherit his will.

        3. Zerphy and Smoker:

        78

-Base of operation: Both are stationed at G-5 in New world.
-Weapons: Both use kairoseki weapons. Smoker with his Jutte and Zerphy with his arm.

        1011

-Nicknames: Both their nicknames have a colour theme. Zerphy is black while Smoker is white
-DF: Zerphy has no df while Smoker has a df.
-Sense of justice: They both believe in the same justice. Pirates are evil while marines are good. They live in a black and white world. Both are strong believers of justice
-Both their beliefs in the marines and WG change over time. Zerphy left the marines as a result.
-Their character themes are opposite in some aspects. One has a df with a white color theme while the other has no df with a black color theme

Smoker will surpass Zerphy and inherit his will. Since they are opposite to each other, Smoker will be able to do what Zerphy could not. that is to change the marines and to change his mentality from a black and white one to a gray one.

That is why I believe these 3 people will be the admirals in the future.
Thanks for reading. All feedback is welcome. Be it good or bad.
