We all know Bartolomeo as the guy who just fanboys on Luffy and Strawhats in this ongoing Dressrosa Arc.
But there’s more to him than meets the eye.
Bartolomeo started idolizing the Strawhats when he saw Luffy in Lougetown, since then he dreamt of being a pirate and ultimately sailing after 2 years in which he acquired a notable bounty and a reputation where people named him as “Cannibal” because of his cruelness and trollish attitude.
But what is the other reason Bartolomeo actually went out to sea aside from meeting Luffy?
It’s because Bartolomeo had been looking for his father, this guy:
Devil Dias.
Yes, Bartolomeo had been looking for his father never knowing that his father got killed by Tenryuubito, and that his father had been a slave all along.
I’ll assume that the briefcase Bartolomeo was holding was actually the things he want to give to his father.
But after hearing the death of his father from Sabo and Koala, Bartolomeo would ultimately make a decision and stop following Luffy for a bigger cause.
1. Zoro as the vice captain has given his comment or approval regarding other strawhats, EXCEPT SANJI. Since Luffy and Zoro are the first two member of the strawhats, it seems normal that Zoro will always be there when other strawhats are recruited. But in Sanji’s case, Zoro was away following Nami.
2. Every strawhats has their picture seen by the world, EXCEPT SANJI.
I am talking about their bounty poster.
3. We know that every strawhats has lost somebody important in their life, EXCEPT SANJI.
Luffy lost Sabo(returned) and Ace.
Zoro lost Kuina.
Usopp, Robin, and Nami lost their mother.
Franky lost Tom.
Brook lost his captain, then his crew.
Chopper lost Dr. Hiluluk.
In fact, in his flashback instead of losing somebody, Sanji actually got a new friend (Zeff).
4. Every strawhats has once left the crew, or fought a member of the crew, EXCEPT SANJI.
Zoro was going to be killed by Luffy in Whiskey Peak (Chapter 112).
Nami and Robin temporarily left the crew.
Usopp and Franky fought Luffy.
Chopper was forced to left the crew by Foxy.
Brook fought Zoro, actually Brook’s shadow(Ryuma) fought Zoro.
Luffy fought himself (Chapter 478 – Luffy versus Luffy).
5. Every strawhats has devil fruit ability or weapon, EXCEPT SANJI.
Luffy, Robin, Chopper, and Brook have their df abilities.
Zoro has his swords.
Nami has her clima tact.
Usopp has his kabuto.
Franky is actually a weapon himself.
Not only lack of weapon or df ability, in fact Sanji restricted himself in using his hand.
So let me tell you my theory regarding these 5 anomalies.
In the future there will be a big incident that remove those anomalies. In other words, Oda has prepared an amazing story to make Sanji’s character follow the pattern. Lets talk about the pattern one by one.
1. Sanji will temporarily leave the crew, and here Zoro again will give an amazing advice or speech about it. And when Sani comes back, Zoro will give his proper approval. But what could be the reason for Sanji to leave the crew?
2. Sanji will get his proper photograph for his bounty poster, and that is when his parents will recognize the existence of their long lost child and will try ask Sanji to come back. But who are Sanji’s parents?
3. Or maybe Sanji actually has lost one of his parents, or his brother, or his sister. Then for some reason he decided to runaway or to take revenge by sneaking to Orbit.
We have seen many times Sanji sneaking to follow his instinct.
Sanji was sneaking to Maxim to rescue Nami.
Sanji was sneaking to Puffing Tom to rescue Robin.
Maybe at the momet while Thousand Sunny is heading to Zou, Sanji is sneaking to Big Mom’s ship.
Maybe in the future the strawhats will encounter Orbit and that is when the strawhats learn Sanji’s true identitiy. But what is his true identitiy?
4. Not only he will leave the crew, Sanji will have his proper fight with Zoro.
So, many people has been talking about Sanji being actually a prince of some kingdom since Oda has foreshadowed it by giving him alias as Mr. Prince.
Also, Zoro has actually mentioned that Sanji looks like a prince.
Notice the ball in his head, it looks like the ball in Inuppe’s head (Zombie who owned Sanji’s shadow).
5. For his ability. There are two possibilities.
the first one is, Sanji might get a devil fruit ability, which enhance his kicking ability. Logia maybe, or Bellamy’s fruit, or actually his dream fruit (Absalom’s fruit). I prefer the second possibility, Sanji will get a weapon, which is a metal boots since he need an armor to cover his leg. Or shoes to enhance his kicking ability, similar to Detective Conan’s shoes, LOL.
Or maybe he will lose one of his leg, and Franky will give Sanji a prosthetic robotic leg (super awesome).
In fact in early concept of strawhats character, somebody has got a prosthetic robotic leg.
And it will be funny when Sanji finally meet Zeff again. Zeff will laugh and tell Sanji “so you follow my style huh” since we know Zeff actually got a prostetic leg himself.
Lastly, since we are talking about Sanji. I want to point out that Strawhats might not need to have a giant in their crew to figh Sanjuan Wolf, because we have Sanji. Oda himself has foreshadowed that Sanji will fight Sanjuan Wolf 3 times.
1. The first 4 letters of their name are same, so Sanji versus Sanju.
2. Sanji has the experience of fighting a super huge giant (Wadatsumi).
3. They actually have the same birthday (second of march).
Kaidou is called “The Worlds Strongest Creature” so we can assume that he isn’t human. The are many races in the OP world but the race I think Kaidou belongs to are the minkmen just like Bepo the bear and Pekoms the lion.
What kind of talking animal you say? A Monkey. Yes people. Kaidou is a monkey minkman and for good reason.
So far, we only have these silhouttes of Kaidou.
From these, you can tell Kaidou has a long/big/pointy nose. There are actually monkeys with big noses.
Know all those theories of Kaidou being based off Napoleon and being short? Well monkeys are short.
Many theories have claimed that Kaidou is Chinese and that supports my claim of Kaidou’s appearance as monkeys are very important animals in Chinese culture and mythology. In one of my latest theories, I said Chinese monkey statues are used to ward of demons and Luffy’s alliance resemble a “Night Parade of a Hundred Demons.”
Did you guys know that Monkey D. Luffy’s personality is based off Sun Wukong the monkey king in Chinese Buddhism? Sun Wukong was known as a troublemaker and he beat a dragon and Kaidou is a dragon zoan. It is common for OP villains to be meet with great irony and Kaidou, a real monkey, being beaten by Luffy is very ironic and symbolic.
Lastly, Kaidou is the ONLY yonkou whom we have not seen AND got hype. With the other yonko, we’ve seen them and we know how menacing they are based on their presence/appearance. With Kaidou, his hype is strengthened through the words of others. With this, I can say Kaidou will look RIDICULOUS. A good contrast to the other menacing looking yonkou. Just imaging a monkey-dragon hybrid. Kaku 2.0.
Everyone after watching/reading the PH arc was complaining about how weak Smoker is compared to preTS Smoker and Luffy. How Luffy went ahead of him.
All this is true. However, I believe it all had a reason and PH played a very important role towards strengthening Smoker.
Lets get to it:
The enitire PH arc was meant to be a wake up call for Smoker.
He used to be stronger than Luffy but Luffy surpassed him during the TS.
Luffy had 3 main wake up calls during preTS that made his see his weakenesses and train hard to be where he is rite now ie:
Aokiji encountre. He wasnt strong enough to defeat his enemy. He also thought he could take onanyone and everyone.
Kizaru and Sentomru in Sabody. He couldnt protect his dream ie he needs to be alive, not in prison and have his crew to be the PK.
Ace’s death. He couldnt protectsomeone precious to him ie Ace.
PH arc was meant to showSmoker that he is weak and needs to step up his game. Luffy, Law and Vergo who are in his league clearly outclass him @ the moment.
Just like Luffy had 3 major eye opening experiences, Smoker also had them in PH ie:
He got defeated by Law and had to beg for his life from a pirate(Law).
He had to fight Vergo who clearly whopped him. He saw the injustice in the marine and was unable to do anything about it since he lacked the strength. He had to depend on a pirate, the scum of the earth, to fight his battle for him.
He had to fight DD who was beyond his level and almost killed him and his crew.
All thesescenarios showed Smoker that:
He wasnt strong enough to defeat his enemies and He also thought he could take onanyone and everyone. (Law, Vergo and DD)
He coudlnt protect his dream (couldnt stop the injustice and corruption)
He couldnt protect those precious to him ie his crew(against DD and to some extend CC and Vergo)
This experience will make Smoker stronger:
The fact that Luffy went ahead to him will fuel his drive and motivate Smoker to train harder.
His willpower will be strengthen and his determination to achieve is dream will also be strengthened.
He was already stronger than Luffy preTS, so after this the next tymhe is shown he will be on Luffy’s lvl.
Therefore Everything that happened in PH was neccessary for Smoker to grow stronger.
Oda likes to use myths, legends and fables, e.g. “fable” backwards = Elbaf. In chinese mythology, there are said to be 4 seas: North, South, East and West
Those 4 seas are represented by four colors: Yellow, Blue, White and Red
They have also been represented by different animals over the time including a Monkey, a Bird, a Dragon, and a Dog
This of course screams:
A north sea with a yellow monkey = Admiral Kizaru
A south sea with a blue bird = Admiral Aokiji
A west sea with a red dog = Admiral Akainu
-> That would leave the East Sea = Admiral White Dragon (Shiroryu)
There is a similar myth that supports this:
The myth is about a king who had 4 loyal followers: One had the shape of a bird, the 2nd the shape of a monkey, the 3rd the shape of a dog, and the last the shape of a pheasant. Some day, the bird realized how evil the king was, so he left his king, but not without letting the other followers know the truth. To his disappointment, the dog was too loyal to his king, the monkey was an idiot and he couldn’t understand what’s going on, and the pheasant was simply too lazy to do something.
Now all this resembles the Admirals in One Piece a lot. The colours + the animals + the attitudes! (This time, the bird = dragon)
I believe that Sakazuki’s loyalty to the Navy and the Absolute Justice, Borsalino’s (pretended) goofiness, and Aokiji’s laziness are taken from those myths, hence I believe that the White Dragon, who saw the truth about the evil of his king, is Monkey D. Dragon, Admiral Monkey D. Dragon, with the person of the “King” being taken by the institution of World Government.
Growing up as the son of the famous and renowned Marine officer Monkey D. Garp, combined with the experiences of racism, humiliation and discrimination he made while living on Dawn Island, it’s plausible that Dragon joined the Marine or the WG with hopes of changing the world. But he had to realize (like the Dragon in the myth), that the WG is too evil, too set in their ways, and that the system couldnt be changed. He deserted his position, formed the Revolutionaries and dedicated 100% of his effort to achieving his goal: Changing the world, changing the system, erasing racism, discrimination and humiliation from the world.
I say “dedicate 100%”, because he didnt even take care of his own son, or he wasn’t able to take care of him.
Whatever the case may be, something must have happened in his life, to trigger a young man to abandon his former life and to start a life of secrecy and rebellion. And since love & romance are not a big subject in One Piece at all, I doubt that his Wife (Luffy’s Mom) or even Garp’s Wife (Dragon’s own Mom) have much to do with this. I believe the evil of the WG, that he experienced at first hand, triggered Dragon’s decision to start a revolution.
There are many theories on Brook’s fruit, the best I’ve heard are that Brook’s fruit is the hell fruit & that Brook’s fruit gives him soul manipulation. But imho there is a better power that fits the title of Yomi Yomi no mi other than the aforementioned theories; I believe that the Yomi Yomi no mi grants its user the power of Necromancy.
WHAT IS NECROMANCY?
Necromancy is magic that is used to manipulate the dead, http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Necromancy . If you read the page that i linked it states that necromancy can give the user the ability to cheat or bypass death… this sounds a lot like Brook
WHY NECROMANCY?
I believe that necromancy is the most likely power that the yomi yomi no mi has for several reasons. First, http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Yomi_Yomi_no_Mi the fruit’s official english name used by both Viz and funimation is the revive revive fruit; how would the underworld or manipulating living souls even make sense if the fruit is called the revive revive fruit? Now i know that Yomi no kuni means underworld, but if that was the case wouldn’t Oda have told Viz/ funimation to just call it the yomi yomi fruit rather than translate it to english. I believe that the reason it’s called the revive revive fruit is because it’s power centralizes on reviving the souls of the dead; i mean if Brook can revive himself, why not others?
WHAT POWERS WILL BROOK HAVE AND HOW WILL THEY WORK?
Brook’s power will allow him to talk to souls in the underworld, it will allow Brook to make contracts with the dead. Once a contract is made, Brook can then summon the spirit whenever he pleases. The spirits he summons can only exist for 30 minutes a day unless they are bound to an earthly object; but whenever the spirits are summoned they have the intangibility and recovery of a logia. He can control and manipulate the powers of the spirits he summons, in addition he can fuse his spirits to objects/weapons to make them stronger; finally Brook can merge his soul and the soul of the spirit to become stronger, like Moria’s shadow assguard. The spirits he summons will retain their original haki and strength but will lose any devil fruit ability that they used to possess.
WILL THIS RUIN ONE PIECE?
I knew that if i brought up this theory, many people would disagree with it since it could potentially be used to revive important characters like Ace. Well for your info. none of the spirits that Brook will use will be any significant dead character, however i can see Brook telling Luffy that he had a conversation with Ace and how Ace told Brook that Luffy is the one who will surpass Roger
WHAT IS SOUL SOLID?
Over the time skip, Brook figured out how to use his sword to freeze his opponents and named it soul solid. Now many people say that soul solid is Brook projecting his soul into the sword; however when Brook talked about the sword, he mentioned the land of the dead and how the longarm tribe “sharpened the sword”. This leads me to think that soul solid’s power was somehow increased by the longarm tribe. So here’s the theory:
-When Brook was with the long arm tribe, namakura island( the island Brook landed on first http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Namakura_Island )declared war on the longarms
-The people of namakura wanted revenge on the longarms and therefore invaded
-However knowing that their military was weaker and that they would never win, They had planned to suicide bomb themselves offering their bodies to satan
-When the namakurans met with the admiral of the longarm army, they bombed themselves
-After seeing the explosion, Brook ran to the scene; all the namakurans were dead but the longarms were still alive however they were all fatally wounded
-The admiral told Brook that he reminded him of his son, Scratchman Apu who happened to love music as much as Brook did. The admiral told Brook that Apu was loved throughout the tribe but secretly wanted to be a pirate, which the admiral disproved of, then he told Brook that one day he and the army came together to persuade Apu to give up being a pirate. Apu ran away from his father and the army, snuck into a boat and was never heard of again. The admiral along with the surviving members of the longarm army(who were about to die) began to cry and say that all they wanted to do was see Apu again, but they knew that that would never happen. Brook then tells the admiral along with the rest of the army about what his fruit can do, then the army begs Brook to make a contract with them after they die so that if Brook ever met Apu Brook could summon the army and they could finally see Apu.
-Brook grants their wish as they die; Brook then summons the all of the army and stores their souls in his sword. When Brook said the longarms sharpened his sword, he meant they enhanced it by giving the sword their souls.
This makes sense since it is called soul solid; in science a solid is the most dense form of matter. Soul solid is a sword that is dense with souls packed inside of it. Every soul is cold by nature, but when you pack so many souls into on sword; the temperature of the sword drops to below freezing temperatures.
TECHNIQUES:
Rebirth: Brook summons a soul from the underworld
Condemn: Brook attaches a soul to an earthly object
Devour: Brook combines his soul with the soul of the undead to create a “shadow assguard” version of Brook, Brook’s “shadow assguard” mode wouldn’t necessarily be larger than his original form, but will increase the power of Brook’s strength, speed, regeneration. This form will also give him all the haki of the soul he absorbed
Blizzard of a thousand souls: Brook creates a shockwave of ice out of soul solid
Purge: Brook purges a soul: in this process, Brook sends the soul to heaven by burning it; once a soul is purged it can no longer be used by Brook. This technique allows Brook to use fire
Hellfire slash: Brook purges all the soul in his soul solid to create a massive blast of fire, this is a 1-time attack that brook will use to finish Apu when they fight
Shinigami mode: due to consuming too many spirits, Brook’s body overflows with spirit energy giving him a cloak of energy. This greatly enhances all of Brook’s abilities
Anyways i believe that apart from the longarms, Brook will have many other souls; each soul has a different power and whenever Brook eats a soul he obtains a new power.
I know this theory has been thrown around and some people believe that BlackBeard has like an ogre like zoan, hydra like zoan, or Chimera like zoan, I have heard about the parasitic twins theory (Which in my opinion is the best theory, even better than this one I am writing about) But I have a huge feeling about Blackbeard being a Cerberus Zoan(hellhound zoan) before he obtain the Yami Yami Devil Fruit.

So let’s start with why do i think Blackbeard has the Cerberus Zoan type.
Ok let’s take a look at what I call the Legend of 3(totally made that up but it will make sense)
The original Blackbeard’s real name was Edward Teach but in other parts of the world others called him Edward Thatch
Oda basically grabbed one real life character and turned him into 3 fictional characters.
Edward Newgate (the most badass character in One Piece so far)
Thatch (He has a badass design!)
and of course or beloved Marshall D. Teach
I think its amazing that oda went this route, so basically In One Piece Oda has a theme where the number 3 seems to show up a lot when looking into Blackbeard.
Let’s start with his Jolly Roger (which looks like a Cerberus)
I believe that Blackbeard had already ate the zoan type Devil fruit, of course I also believe that that zoan is a Cerberus. His Jolly roger is strong evidence that this could be true . But notice how Black Beard’s Jolly roger has 3 skulls right? ok lets move on. I recently notice that Black Beard sports 3 flint locks? hmmm 3….the number 3 shows up again.
To be honest Blackbeard is such a bad ass character he is just eating pies, drinking beer, carrying flintlocks, having multiple Devil fruits, this guy just screams last villain!
Ok so Blackbeard wears these odd rings in his hands, he wears 4 in inch hand but only 3 of them on each hand have gems on them (maybe he puts the devil fruit powers on the rings so that he is not effected by water) again the number 3 shows up yet again.
Then we have Red Haired Shanks who was given a scar by Blackbeard Pre darkness Devil Fruit.
How the hell did blackbeard get close enough to give Shanks 3 scars? wait did I say 3 scars? the number 3 shows itself yet again!
Some of you guys might say “but John Black Beard had a weapon that had claws and that could be the reason why Black Beard gave Shanks a scar” but the thing is that weapon had 4 claws and shanks has only 3 scars.
Now lets take a look at my actual theory, My theory is that Blackbeard has 3 souls. I believe that he absorbed 2 souls specifically White Beard and Thatch (ironically those 2 would make him complete since Oda separated them for this show) There are multiple ways I can see BlackBeard doing this theory about getting the souls. In some legends Cerberus are know to eat or rip out the souls from there victims. I believe thats what Blackbeard did to both Thatch and Whitebeard. Another possibility is that he stores there souls in the rings he carries. Lets say he did take 2 souls that would mean he has 3! what! yes i said 3! But wait theres more!
If Blackbeard has 3 souls that can explain why he has 2 Devil fruits (I believe he has 3 already)
Maybe the reason Blackbeard Darkness fruit does not work as a normal logia does is because he had already the zoan type devil fruit, maybe because of that he cant do the whole not being effected by attacks like the other logias.

After chapter 783 and a slew of Gear Fourth theories, I decided to also make one. (LOL)
And I believe Luffy will reveal 2 more “Gears” in the future.
Gear Fifth and the “Reverse”.
I’ll just get straight to the point, here goes:
During the Enies Lobby Arc, Monkey D. Luffy invented 2 gears, namely Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd, to make a somewhat accurate guess on what Gear 4th would be, we need to look back and see how Luffy made the first 2 gears up and what’s the difference between the two.
First Gear (in a way) is Luffy’s natural fighting form, consisting of attacks named after “guns” after bragging to Shanks that his punch is as strong as a pistol.
Gomu Gomu No Pistol, Bazooka, Gatling Gun, Rifle, Rocket, Cannon….you get the point.
He also names his attacks after “weapons” namely, Axe, Whip, Sickle, Spear and other special things like Gomu Gomu No Storm (which he used against Crocodile), Fireworks (which he used against Captain McKinley’s troops) and Windmill (Against Moomoo when he fought Arlong)
Now, of all the attacks he used in his first form, its interesting to note the last 3: Storm, Fireworks and Windmill.
We all know that the basic Luffy have came from his fascination with pirates, and named his attacks with the weapon they used.
But the last 3 attacks are attacks he invented upon seeing or hearing something. Luffy is a battle genius.
He invented the Gomu-Gomu No Storm as either some sort of tribute to the drought in Alabasta or to Crocodile’s “sandstorm” itself.
He invented the Gomu Gomu No Fireworks after seeing the troops of Captain McKinley shooting Milky Cloud trails.
And he invented Gomu Gomu No Windmill (Pinwheel) after seeing Genzo’s pinwheel.
I brought this up because it applies to the logic he used with his “gears”.
Luffy invented the “gears” after being fascinated with the Sea-Trains at Water 7 and seeing the Elbaf Giants, and he acquired the method of those attacks from CP9’s Rokushiki techniques (specifically Soru) and from the Elbaf Giants he met at Little Garden.
Gear 2nd was him pumping blood to his veins in order to make him faster than his usual capabilities.
Gear 3rd was him expanding his rubber bones in order to imitate a limb of a giant.
And the last similarities is that, all his gears have “dangerous consequences” once used. Gear 2nd being him draining his life, and Gear 3rd making him slower than usual and turning into a smaller Luffy for a few minutes.
So if we review his gears, they have several similarities:
1. They are invented after Luffy sees something he takes interest into.
2. Luffy imitates the attack of other people he fought.
3. There’s a serious consequence for using it.
4. It modify his body past his limits. (for 2nd its Blood, for 3rd its his bones)
5. It’s Luffy using the properties of rubber.
And an additional hint: Doflamingo comended Luffy for his quickness but noted that he “lacked power”, and Gear 3rd is too slow to hit Doflamingo.
So we could assume the 4th gear is fast enough to hit Doflamingo, but is strong enough to hurt him.
So what do I think Gear Fourth is?
I believe Gear 4th is “Revenge”.
Yes, and it pertains to the “Recoil” or “Rebound” capabilities of rubber and how it can sustain “stress” and “vibrations”.
Basically, I believe that this gear is a desperation move, that’s why I called it “Revenge”. If you played Street Fighter 4, you might know the “Revenge Meter” right?
Basically, the higher the damage you received, the stronger your “Desperation Move” using the “Revenge Meter” would be.
And when I mean it’s a desperation move, I mean it’s a desperation move: Luffy can only launch this attack ONCE.
And it’s the reason why Luffy uses it as a last resort if the 2 first gears don’t work, and if he is beaten badly.
Luffy stores all the impact and stress in his body, from his other attacks and from his opponent’s attacks, and then launches it with a super-fast attack and him dealing all the damage back to his opponent tenfold.
So how did Luffy come up of this Gear?
King’s Punch.
Let’s not forget that Luffy is watching that fight, and let’s not forget that it was mentioned that King Riku’s punch is able to take down a Yonkou.
And it’s just King Riku, while it’s true that I believe the Fourth Gear is a “One-Time” desperation shot, and he got that idea from King Riku, I believe that Luffy got that idea of using “Vibrations” by being against these guys.
Don Chinjao, Sai and Boo.
And I believe that the Fourth Gear is so powerful that Luffy’s punch will literally explode which he got from fighting another coliseum competitor.
Cannon Ideo.
Summing it up, I believe Luffy’s Fourth Gear is a combination the King’s Punch, Hasshouken and Ideo’s Cannon Punch.
Who or what will pay homage for this move though?
Bellamy.
I believe Luffy will pay homage to Bellamy, he is also the reason why Luffy thought of this Gear in the first place, and the method came from King Riku, the Happou Navy and Ideo.
It’s very very meaningful that Luffy pays homage to Bellamy against Doflamingo.
What are the consequences for this move?
Basically everything, before Luffy use this move, he can’t attack….so he pretty much needs to defend entirely until he finds an opening.
After attacking, his whole body would be worn out and the inside of his body will rupture (good thing his body is rubber) but it still puts him in a really dangerous position since he is using the inside of his body to contain the impact.
Luffy basically is a walking Reject Dial in this gear, It’s basically Luffy’s version of Rokougan.
If he misses, he would be open for a very long time because his reaction time and his recovery from this attack would be very slow.
Why there are last 2 gears and what are they?
I honestly never even believed there would be a Gear Fourth until the recent chapter, but now it’s revealed, I sincerely believe that Luffy will imitate an engine (eventhough trains only got 2 gears. LOL).
Gear Fifth I believe would be Luffy finally having Elemental attacks. Remember when Luffy fought Enel? He insulated Enel’s electricity but who knows if he can produce it now that he took all of it?
He is already using a fire-attack, so I believe it would be more different than that.
As I said, Luffy will imitate an engine, and rubber can stand 2 elements: Fire and Lightning.
I believe that in the Fifth Gear, Luffy can freely produce Fire in one hand and Lightning in another hand, much like Blackbeard though he haven’t ate 2 devil fruits.
Remember Blackbeard’s abilities: Darkness and Vibrations.
Fire fights Darkness (figuratively and literally) and Lightning is another form of Vibration.
So basically in this form, Luffy could fight neck and neck with Blackbeard. I believe that not only Luffy can produce fire and lightning in his punches, he could also send shockwaves of lightning and fire if he punches the ground with it.
The drawback would be Luffy dealing damage to himself as well, not a long term damage like gear 2nd deals, but damage that he would feel while he is fighting in that moment.

Gear 2nd, Luffy imitated the piston of the engine, producing speed and steam. Gear 3rd, Luffy imitated the wheels of the car, and inflated his bones. Gear 4th, Luffy imitated the acceleration and brake properties of the car, producing a sudden burst of speed and power. Gear 5th, Luffy imitated the heat and electricity of the engine, producing the ability to produce fire and lightning attacks.
Gear Sixth or Reverse
I believe Luffy will fully harness the Conqueror Haki’s full potential and he would basically be just in his normal mode, but his every attack utilizes the devastating power of Conqueror Haki’s wave.
One drawback: Luffy cannot control himself in this gear, and he risks the safety of him and everyone around him, and he can only uses for a short amount of time before it kills him.
Exactly when you reverse your car, minus the guide mirrors.
The big question on everyone’s mind is ‘what is Gear Fourth’? How has Oda developed Luffy’s abilities and allowed him to push himself beyond his current limits? And how will Luffy’s fighting style and attacks evolve with Gear Fourth?
A theory I have for Gear Fourth is Luffy incorporating the use of vibrations into his attacks. With his rubber body Luffy can create vibrations/enter into a “vibrating state” through rapidly stretching and contracting his body (vibrating his muscles). By hardening his limbs with Haki, Luffy can amplify the vibrations created within his body and apply them to his attacks where the vibrations being produced within him are transferred onto and into his opponent when the attack lands. In effect Gear Fourth will allow Luffy to perform piercing/focused attacks with vibrations that can bypass the defense of his opponent.
Ever since witnessing the destructive nature of the Happo Navy’s Hasshoken (and how unblockable such attacks are), I have been of the opinion that such a technique/form would be incredibly useful in evolving the way Luffy attacks and fights. Vibrations imbued onto Luffy’s attacks would make them incredibly destructive as they would be able to pierce beyond the opponents defense and leave substantial damage. Vibration based attacks also don’t have to directly land on the target, they can affect the surrounding area of the source. Gear Fourth will leave Luffy in a “vibrating state” (like an active car engine) allowing Luffy to perform attacks that generate shock waves. With such a Gear, Luffy can increase the destructive nature of his attacks and avoid having to inflate his limbs, which slows him down, to increase his strength.
Using vibrations against Doflamingo would be an effective way to bypass Doflamingo’s defense and injure Doflamingo internally, which will also have the added effect of interrupting Doflamingo’s internal “repairing” whenever he has it active. Doflamingo did ridicule Luffy for having weak punches but with vibrations imbued onto his attacks, Luffy can soon have Doflamingo eating those very words when his attacks are able to penetrate through Doflamingo’s defenses. Vibrations can also be a good way for Luffy to affect the “string” power of Doflamingo by disrupting the resonance of the strings. I can imagine Luffy’s finishing move sending Doflamingo flying into the Bird Cage and with the vibrational power behind that attack being transferred onto the Bird Cage, the strings forming the cage around Dressrosa would end up being disabled and undone, thereby destroying Bird Cage along with Doflamingo (and removing the “thorn” in Luffy’s side).
The initial source of inspiration behind Gear Fourth is most likely Whitebeard and the way he utilised his Gura Gura no Mi during the Marineford War. Whitebeard’s vibration imbued attacks were devastating and completely overwhelmed all those who were subject to it – including Akainu, Blackbeard and the Marineford Island. Luffy may have gotten an idea from that experience about how to make his attacks more destructive.
The reason Luffy wanted his nakama away from the nearby area may be because of the destructive nature of Gear Fourth. Thanks to Luffy witnessing Whitebeard’s magnificence two years ago he realises how destructive vibrations can be and is aware that with the release of Gear Fourth (if it is focused around vibrations), not even the Palace on top of the plateau would be safe.
Another significant point to note is by Luffy having a Gear that can utilise vibrations in his attacks, a means to combat Blackbeard, the current user of the Gura Gura no Mi, has opened up. Luffy’s battle against Blackbeard will happen sometime in the future, it is an inevitable fate the two share. It is possible that with a Gear utilising vibrations Luffy can develop a way to counter Blackbeard’s Gura Gura no Mi attacks and avoid being completely overwhelmed by it. Additionally Luffy can give Blackbeard (and Akainu) a taste of what the Gura Gura no Mi’s power (vibrations) taste like again.
Gear Fourth incorporating vibrations (produced by Luffy’s muscles) would help to evolve the way Luffy fights. Overtime Luffy may find ways to use Gear Fourth in conjunction with Gear Second and Third, if he hasn’t already. A Gear Third attack used in Gear Fourth (vibrating state) would be a sight to see. A downside to Luffy using Gear Fourth would be overusing his stretching ability and tiring his muscles out ultimately leaving him in a fatigued state where he has reduced stretching ability. Upon using Gear Fourth Luffy will have to wait a while for his body to recover before being able to fully utilise the stretching ability his body offers.
Vibrations can evolve Luffy’s fighting style in an interesting way, but ultimately it rest with Oda to determine how Luffy grows stronger. Can’t wait for the next chapter.

For the most part, this sentence surely means that Pirate King Gol D. Roger put his hopes into the next generation, that will bring forth a Chosen One (Monkey D. Luffy). But what if it’s interpreted literally? If Roger is actually waiting somewhere?
Who would he wait for?
The Chosen One, Someone who can finish what Roger started, Someone who can change the world, Someone who can hear the Voice of All Things, Someone who wears the Straw Hat -> Monkey D. Luffy
Where would he wait?
At the place no one can reach without hearing the Voice of All Things, The Place where the Straw Hat finds its fate -> Raftel
How is this even possible?
“I will not die, my friend.” – Gol D. Roger to Rayleigh
Is Roger dead? Yes, for sure. But what if he was able to leave something of himself behind? Like an image of his former self, or an echo of his voice? He was able to hear the Voice of All Things, he could have mastered that mysterious ability to the extent of being able to leave behind his own echo. That means that those with the ability to hear the Voice of All Things would be able to hear Roger’s voice once they reach Raftel.
Roger’s spirit, similar to the Will of D., lives on, until its destiny is fulfilled: Once Luffy reaches Raftel, he will hear the last inspirational words from Roger, an echo of the Pirate King.
What’s the role of the Straw Hat?
The Strawhat is the key to all of this! The strawhat is either the medium, in which Roger “saved his voice”, or it simply enhances the ability to hear the voice of all things. Whatever the case may be, once the Straw Hat returns to Raftel, it will trigger the ability to hear the echo of the Pirate King, the echo that was left behind by the former user of the Straw Hat.
The Ancient Kingdom
I believe Raftel was part of the Ancient Kingdom, the origin of all D. characters. Now we know Roger and his crew (Shanks & Buggy) reached Raftel. But do Buggy and Shanks know everything about the Ancient History, about the One Piece? I dont think so. I think when they reached Raftel, only Gold Roger was able to hear/see all 100% of the truth. Rayleigh is his first mate and good friend, Im sure he and other high crewmembers were told the story by Gold Roger. But do they really know the entire story? Buggy and Shanks? I dont think so.
If Raftel is indeed the Ancient Kingdom, the origin and graveyard of many D. characters, then I think Roger heard an “Echo” himself when he set food on Raftel, and only he was able to hear it, Rayleigh and his nakama werent able to, and neither were Buggy nor Shanks. Only Roger got 100% of the knowledge, through his ability to hear the Voice of All Things. With that knowledge, he left a message for the next chosen one – Luffy.
