  • Chopper: Beli100
    • After the events on Dressrosa, Chopper’s bounty has been increased to Beli100. Just like Nami’s new poster, Chopper’s new bounty picture is similar in appearance to his old one

ZORO, THE DESCENDANT OF THE LEGENDARY SAMURAI RYUMA

It’s a long read but hopefully it’s convincing enough and worth the time. Enjoy.

I’ll split this theory in 3 main parts:-
    1) Introduction and purpose of the theory
    2) Comparisons and similarities between Zoro and Ryuma
    3) Foreshadowings and other evidences
    So let’s begin.
Disclaimer:- Most of the references in this theory are made to the Monsters one shot by Oda-sensei on Ryuma so in case you haven’t gone through it, I’d suggest you do so as it would be far easier to understand this theory then.

    1) Introduction and Purpose
Haven’t you found it intriguing that the first time we saw Zoro was a young determined kid who could already use swords and was training at a dojo, lifting weights and stuff rather than a helpless baby like Nami or a child with known parents like Usopp? Isn’t it quite fascinating that only he and Sanji have absolutely no known Origins and are the 2 people without Devil Fruits with the most mysterious of powers. Regarding Sanji we barely have any hints and all is just speculation but I have some references about Zoro and that is why I chose to make this theory. The purpose is that Zoro’s origins open a wide number of horizons to explore. The reality behind his powers, future arcs and predictions in One Piece etc. can all be discovered sooner or later if we know his origins. (Regarding his powers, Coby when describing Zoro to Luffy said he is a demon incarnated in human form in one of the early episodes in one piece.)
Now with the evidence in hand, I tried to figure out his origins albeit not the immediate parentage exactly. More like an ancestor or someone at least 2 to 3 generations earlier. That person is Ryuma. How? Let’s get onto that.

    2) Comparisons and similarities
Comparisons and similarities can be the best of proofs sometimes since we all know genes pass down the generations and some similarities are retained even between some distant generations (Hold your thoughts on me being a lunatic for a while :p)
So let’s see. First and foremost the appearance.
Isn’t the appearance of Ryuma in this colored image pretty similar to pre time-skip Zoro? Oda hasn’t drawn many male characters with similar apperances and usually they are from same lineage eg. A younger Garp and luffy look a little bit similar.

    Next up is their behaviour:-
-Both are swordsman and very skilled and honorable ones too. There is no need to explain this as we all have seen Zoro’s fight with Mihawk and in Thriller Bark, Ryuma’s zombie claiming to bring dishonor to the great Samurai’s body. In Monsters, Ryuma mentions something called ‘Warrior’s soul’ during his interaction with the restaurant owner.

I think this also refers to the honor of a swordsman as much as it refers to a swordsman’s skill. All across the Monsters chapter, we have seen Ryuma to be very honourable. Zoro talking about a cut on the back to be a disgrace to a swordsman and his final words to Ryuma’s zombie suggest he is a man of honor and not just his own but a swordsman’s honor in general.

NOW IMPRINT THE ABOVE IMAGE IN THE MIND BECAUSE IT HAS ANOTHER BIG REFERENCE TOO.

-Zoro dreams of being the World’s greatest swordsman. In the above panel, you saw The King to be the strongest swordsman in the world and if you’ve read the last panel, the king is none other than ‘Ryuma, the King’. (Though he himself is unaware of it). Zoro’s dream collides with Ryuma’s reality. Just a mere co-incidence? No problem. Let’s go further.

The above 3 were the main big factors but there are tons of smaller similarities too:-
-Zoro’s tendency to be flat broke at the beginning of the series and also initially he and Luffy starving. Similar is the case with Ryuma in the above mentioned chapter.

-Zoro possesses some level of arrogance and so does Ryuma especially when the towns people accuse him and later on when he sees Shirano and DR steal the belongings of people.

-Zoro also can be some one concerned for other’s well being even if they are not related or strangers perhaps. Eg. Zoro picking up the man shot by a Celestial Dragon to the hospital simply because he is injured. Ryuma also was very concerned for Flare’s well being and though not showing it, perhaps the town as well.

-Zoro and Ryuma are both very indebted and dedicated to the person who saved their life. Zoro to Luffy and Ryuma to Flare albeit in much different circumstances. They are concerned for both for their physical and mental well being. Eg. Ryuma when he sees Shirano stealing realises it would break Flare’s heart to know the truth and Zoro’s reaction and concern when he realises Ace died.

    -Both aren’t exactly behind fame.

Zoro simply wants to achieve his dream while Ryuma is a wandering samurai who protects people. Zoro also has a deep streak to protect as seen throught the series especially for his nakama.

-Zoro though initially reckless later becomes very protective and attached to his swords. This is evident when in Thriller Bark, when zombie Ryuma asks him why he needs the Shusui when he already has 3 swords and was fighting with 2, Zoro replied he felt uncomfortable without the 3rd and we saw him give Yubashiri a funeral if it could be said. Ryuma in monsters said that a sword is a swordsman’s life.

-If you go through Monsters, there are still many other smaller behavioural and characteristic parallel’s which signify similar personalities for most parts. So many similarities are there that there can only be a few conclusions.

    Moving on

    3) Foreshadowings
Unlike the similarities and comparisons, these aren’t based on personal character but events throught the series which provide concrete evidence to support the theory. I have 5 evidences here in total.

    1) The most obvious being Zoro fighting Ryuma’s zombie for the meitou Shuusui. Brook couldn’t defeat him and Zoro stepped in simply because he heard of Ryuma’s legendary reputation and his urge to fight a great swordsman. You might feel this to be vague but hold on a second. Rewind back to the 2nd image of this theory which i asked you to remember carefully. Ryuma when he hears about the King (not knowing it’s himself), has a desire to cross blades with the strongest swordsman believing him to have a great ‘Warrior’s Soul’. Another behavioural similarity too but more so an event marking a foreshadowing to the future.

    2) I will post 2 images here which will explain everything without the need of much words.

A sword chooses its owner and the Shuusui’s will for Zoro to be its master. It is a sword wielded by a former ‘World’s Greatest Swordsman’. Definitely there would be far too few people it could chose as its masters. And it chose Zoro. It couldn’t just be because of the dream would it? Wouldn’t there be a sense of belonging when it is wielded by someone from the same lineage with equal or higher potential?

    3) During Punk Hazard, we saw Zoro slay a dragon. (Hold it not just yet). Remember the technique? He didn’t use his trademark Santoryuu but rather the One Sword Style Ittoryu with the sword used being Shuusui. Ryuma also slayed a dragon with the same sword (He was only a 1 sword user). Not just that, they both slay it with a single mightly slash on the neck. I don’t suppose co incidences are this frequent after all I mentioned above.

    4) Another set of images about their cutting capabilities.

Ryuma cuts copper which others believed couldn’t be cut with a sword. Remember Zoro beating Daz Bones and cutting steel? Both these men have feats which not ordinary swordsman would do and Zoro’s journey is leading him to his ancestor’s path of the World’s Greatest swordsman. (Getting more believable? :p Don’t worry, there’s one more)

    5) In the anime, Brook noted both swordsmen to be strength relying swordsman and had this to say :-

Both possess inhuman strength to supplement their swordsmanship.

    Conclusion:-
All the above led me to believe that Zoro would be Ryuma’s descendant but definitely not an immediate one as Zoro commented in the end to having wished to have fought Ryuma in his ‘era’ signifying a bigger gap in time periods. Also if Ryuma was a close ascendant, Zoro probably would have known so they must have been around atleast 3 generations apart perhaps.
Also Ryuma was a samurai from Wano but he wandered around so it wouldn’t also be neccesary for Zoro to be born in Wano and hence he hasn’t also inherited a samurai’s lifestyle. This just removes the doubt why Zoro was in East Blue as a child and not somewhere on the Grandline as they were generations apart and Ryuma being a wandering samurai.
Now a little bit of believable speculation. Who would have been Ryuma’s mate?
This lovely lady. (Yes I am a Sanji fan minus the pervertedness :p Just love her character is all)
[IMG] Flare :p (It just fits. Wait a minute… I am a theorist not a matchmaker.. Damn)

Well, I thank you for the patience to read such a long theory. It was so long that by the end i forgot how i even started it :p I covered all major points but may have forgotten some minor ones. Will gladly appreciate all feedback. Whether it actually comes true or not is upto Oda-sensei so don’t flare me if it doesn’t :p Just tried my best as always and I hope you liked it (Tried to add little bit of humour so you don’t get bored)

Track the stylistic evolution of Eiichiro Oda’s most famous One Piece characters

      One Piece’s stylistic evolution

      129

A recent post by a Japanese internet forum user showed the evolution of series’ creator Eiichiro Oda’s artwork by comparing older pictures of the Straw Hat Pirates with more recent ones side-by-side. While most of the changes are fairly subtle, the slight differences were still enough to spark an online debate about which of the two drawing styles is better.Which is your personal preference?

In this writer’s humble opinion, Oda’s character designs have hardly changed at all (with the exception of Chopper), especially when compared with the drastic stylistic changes of other famous manga artists over time (in particular, I’m thinking of Akira Toriyama’s legendary Dragon Ball, Kosuke Fujishima’s Oh My Goddess!, or even my personal favorite, Rumiko Takahashi’s Inuyasha).

It’s only natural that an established artist’s style will evolve over time in response to personal preference or outside influences. Masashi Kishimoto, author of the recently concluded Naruto manga, has even stated that he adapted his drawing style to more closely resemble that of the anime series once it began airing. Of course, the fans themselves can have differing opinions about whether those changes are for the better or worse.

THE WITCH OF OZ: THE “TRUE” MONSTER TRIO

        strawhatfamily_by_sergiart-d701iqt
        Section I

I believe that by the end of the series, there will still be a Monster Trio, only it’s members are not those whom we usually assign the title to. With the drastic increase of force the Straw Hats are likely going to gain in the future, whether it be Sub-Captains or simply more core Straw Hat Crewmember, Luffy’s forces are certainly upping their game. While Zoro and Sanji will undoubtedly remain his right and left-hand men, the Straw Hats will gain such notoriety “monstrous” strength, that designating the term will undoubtedly become rather nullified. However, the legend of the “Monster Trio” WILL carry on. It will carry on via new flag holders, the trio that coined the term in the first place. Nami, Ussop and Chopper. Why? Allow me to explain.

Once upon a time, the six members of the Straw Hat Crew were divided in half between two trios:
The “Monster Trio” and the “Weakling Trio“.

This was something the weakling trio themselves took on board, accepting the fact that their fellow Crewmembers possessed outrageous and abnormal strength. The gap at that time was clear, yet we still respected the “Weakling Trio” for they at least always tried their best. One of the major ways they did this was through trickery and deceit, as well as entertaining dumb luck (a theme recurrent in the Straw Hats), in other words; showmanship. Even Chopper would get the edge on opponents by the unpredictability of his abilities.

Now, move on two years, and they have more Crew mates, the power levels have shifted somewhat and due to varying battle styles, it has become harder to determine who is superior to who within the crew. There are obvious things that some succeed in compared to others, but I like to think that sometimes the Straw Hat Crew is one big rock-paper-scissors collection. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. However, it is only now that the Luffy-Zoro-Sanji Trio are beginning to finally have allies of a comparable power level. This broadens the terminology even further. The “Monster Trio” title is fading, but Luffy-Zoro-Sanji shall always remain a unstoppable combo.

But if the “Monster Trio” title is fading, then to me the “Weakling Trio” title is dead and buried. Or at least will be very very soon. These characters have grown up a lot since they were introduced. Yes they are the same characters with many of the same faults, but they demonstrate those faults less and less and they have developed their skills enormously, with plenty more room for improvement. Even considering that Chopper probably eclipses Brook regarding raw strength these days only makes my rock-paper-scissors concept all the more relevant.

Section Conclusion: Calling Nami, Ussop and Chopper the “Weakling Trio” after the progress they’ve made, and comparing them to Franky, Robin and Brook is unfair. On the other hand, they will always probably hold that title in our head due to the many years of that being the case. That is, unless Oda does something about it.

        Section II

First let me predict several developments that Nami, Ussop and Chopper will receive at sometime in the future.

Nami: So far in the series we have witnessed two characters who showcase obvious signs of witch lore.
These are Big Mum and Katarina Devon. I shant go into too much detail regarding these two, considering there are several theories concerning these facts and i’m sure many have made such connections already.
To keep it simple, Big mum has been related to the witch of Hansel & Gretel concerning her candy obsession. Her flag has a branch on it, linking her to paganism. Her facial features match the grizzly classic representation of witches and given her size, flight seems her most likely form of transport. Her ship sings and her subordinates wear magician outfits, enough said.
As for Katarina, Devon relates to the Devon Witches, a famous historical witching incident. Her weapon links her to the moon, something corely associated to paganism and witchcraft and just like Big Mum, her features are damn witchy. More significantly, Katarina is on Blackbeard’s crew, and whether or not they end up fighting, it is true to say that Luffy and Blackbeard’s crew seem to match up in more ways than one.

Now, it is crucial to understand that witches often appear in covens, typically of three. So far in One Piece we have encountered other females that have been compared to hags and witches, but none that fully satisfy the connection of a Pirate Coven Trio. Dr. Kureha is not a Pirate and Bonney isn’t witchy enough for me. Nami on the otherhand…

Putting past the simple fact that she is a clever and resourceful young girl, a situation that would be enough to condemn you for witchcraft in some periods of time, Zoro has even called her a witch in the past. Getting juicier. Nami studied on Weatheria, and island containing scientists dressed primarily as WIZARDS. Her weapon itself is comparable to a staff, or when disconnected into three, even a wand.
The biggest clue however is when on Fishman Island, an enemy cried out her powers were magic, yet she immediately declared them to be scientific. It would be of typical One Piece fashion to change Nami’s bounty name to be both something funny yet relevant to the series. As such, I believe that Nami shall no longer be called “Burglar Cat” Nami by the Marines, and instead be called “Sorceress” Nami. Thus making her the final witch of the coven.

Ussop: I n fact have next nothing to be said about Ussop that hasn’t been said before. He will likely grow in strength, courage and skill, as well as further develop his Haki. However, let us not forget where Ussop’s origins lie. He shall forever be the master of trickery in the Straw Hat crew, and I believe his bounty and and bounty name shall reflect this, especially after the whole “God Ussop” situation. :lmao:

I can’t predict what these will be, but I just want remind everyone that Ussop is indeed the Master of Showmanship! (I’ll explain in Section III)

Chopper: Chopper Chopper Chopper… Easily the most physically strong of the Weakling Trio, he is currently in my eyes the closest to pulling away from the title with Ussop in hot second. Just like the other two, he is often underestimated due to appearance, perhaps the most so, and his opponents pay the price.
I believe that Chopper may well be the first Straw Hat to unlock his Awakening, as I believe he is the one who has experimented with his Devil Fruit the most, even more than Luffy. Once he does, his upgrade will be phenomenal, and his Awakened form potentially more terrifying even than “Monster Point”.
Speaking of Monster, isn’t that the name that Chopper has been called ever since he’s been introduced. Isn’t “Monster” the word that has always clung to Chopper, only for him to embrace being one for the sake of Luffy and the Crew?

I believe that once the Marines know Chopper isn’t the “Cotton-Candy Eater” they know him to be, his new and rightfully deserved Bounty poster will read “Monster” Chopper.
And what better place for a Monster…. than in the “Monster Trio”?

        Section III

Here my theory comes to its climactic cultivation. The point that I predict all these pieces of information will collide.

At some point in the One Piece future, I, and many other fans predict there will be an arc featuring the Emerald City. Who resides within the Emerald City? Why, the Wizard of Oz, an all powerful, all seeing, all phony wizard who is in fact.. yes, a phony. But what a grand impression he made! Using stage effects to create a colossal version of himself capable of amazing spells and feats!
Kinda sounds like something Nami, Chopper and Ussop would cook up to get out of a tight spot right? Right.

Nami represents the Witch, but lets not forget her “magic” is science (and thus metaphorically speaking stage effects), and she was trained by wizards! Even her staff hints to the fact that she is witch with a wizard’s magic. This will also be Ussop’s master piece, the ultimate piece of trickery prior him becoming a truly strong warrior of the sea. And of course, it’s Chopper who will be the all powerful being. The Monster. My prediction is this:

There will come a moment within the Emerald City where the Straw Hats require assistance from the “Weakling Trio”. Nami shall use her illusionary mirage techniques to create a gigantic version of an Awakened Chopper. Chopper shall pretend to be an all powerful godly being, pretending to create spells which Ussop shall make occur using his sniping skill and inventiveness. Ussop shall also be the announcer, distorting his voice via Dials to claim to be some sort of God.

This monstrous apparition, upon discovery, shall cause the World Government to label these three Straw Hats as the “Monster Trio”.

I believe this is fitting for the reasons that, as stated earlier, these three rely on stage they are presented with to win their fights more than others. They use showmanship and intimidation to win battles more than others. To gain infamy in such a way as this fits perfectly with their characters, even the fact that Chopper is perceived as some sort of divine monster is perfect.

While all other Straw Hat members will gain further infamy in unrelated ways, this seems a perfect way for the new Monster Trio to earn awe from the world. It will consist of a Witch, a God, and of course a Monster.

ONE PIECE THEORY SAGA: Clash of the Samurai – The full-length Wano Arc

          CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

          Explanation of the theory’s nature:
Welcome to my new theory, I call this theory my ultimate “Wano Arc theory” as this theory, like no other I have made is a complete theory regarding the important Wano Arc.
I have previously made theories regarding it, and other things which you will see, but this one is the gathering of all of those theories and sources and their combination into a One Piece (pun intended).
As you have seen in the list of contents, this theory would be divided into several sections, unincluding this Introduction section we will begin by re-describing the known information about Wano in the series of One Piece.
Then I will describe my opinions and theories regarding the origins and influences of the Wano and it’s arc.
Afterwards, I will look into every known (And unknown as well) important plotpoint of the Wano arc.
At the end, I shall describe the fights in the end of the arc.

CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF WANO KUNI
          All known info:

So far, we know that Wano Kuni is a country unaffiliated with the World Government, it is ruled by the Samurai- powerful Swordsmen.

          Real-World influences:
Even it’s name basically shows the influnece- Wano Kuni. While Wa no Kuni was a name Japan received in it’s medieval era.
Also the existence of the Samurai show that.
The country then is most likely ruled by the Shogunate, ceremonically working under the Emperor (Who has no executive powers).
The country is also very isolated, like medieval Japan- and they seem to see Devil Fruits as “Sorcery”, showing how isolated they are.

CHAPTER 3: PLOTPOINTS IN WANO ARC
          Strawhats are welcome in Wano:

As the Strawhats would get to Wano, alongside with the Heart Pirates, I believe that they will be respected.
However, at some moment, people will discover that Zoro is the one holding the Shusui- the Shogunate in the name of the Emperor will then chase the Strawhats.

However, I believe that as some moment, suddenly Zoro will be stopped near a statue of Ryuma, at that moment people will see their similarity and now Zoro is thought to be Ryuma’s descendant- leading the people to apologize for their actions.

Afterwards, the Strawhats will eat somewhere, I believe that at that moment an old man would try to grab the Shusui, Zoro would stop him, and the mysterious old man would disappear. This man would only arcs later be revealed to be Scopper Gaban.
The reason I think that is because of this pic:

Zoro learns to cut the elements:
Now that the Samurai are very sorry for their fight with the Strawhats, Zoro would ask if they can teach him how to cut the elements, and thus Zoro will train.
It will not be yet shown if he manages to do so or not.

          CP9 and Ninjas:
Now we’ll see people we haven’t seen in a while, the CP9 group. They now live in Kumadori’s hermit house, the Strawhats would be cautious and surprised to se them.
Lucci might say that now he is a criminal as well for the World Government.
Lucci will note that he is now a broker in the Underworld yet he didn’t expect him to defeat Joker. Now he notes that the Strawhats should be extra careful in Wano, because it is more dangerous for them than what it seems.

At night, I think the Strawhats would be attacked by Ninjas, it will be yet unknown who ordered it, but of course it will be the Sei i Taishogun, leader of the Shogunate and basically ruler of Wano (As of now they’ll be convinced the Emperor is though)
I think Sanji is the one to quickly notice the Ninjas, I’ll explain why later.

          Smoker and Tashigi undercover:

Smoker and Tashigi, undercover, visits Wano as well, Smoker would tell Tashigi that this is not a World Government territory and that they cannot expose themselves as Marines, therefore they stay undercover.
          They see the Strawhats.

          Musashi ruler of the Shogun:

As an apology, the Sei i Taishogun would invite the Strawhats, in order to apologize for earlier when the Shogun attacked them (Not in reality though).
To Zoro’s surprise, the leader of the Shogun is none else than Musashi, someone he knows from his past, and inspired him to become a Swordsman.

          Zoro’s flashback:
For the full version, read the full theory, all the reasoning’s there.
For now I’ll say that Musashi was a traveling Swordsman, challenging people to duels, one day he arrived at Zoro’s village and probably defeated someone Zoro knew, either in a positive or negative way.
Afterwords, Zoro was inspired to be a Swordsman himself, and even surpass Musashi by not fighting with 2 swords, but 3.

Zoro’s fight with Musashi and the rebel Yoshinobu and the Emperor:
Zoro would invite Musashi to a duel, which he will say yes and they’ll begin fighting however it seems that Musashi is stronger.
Suddenly, one of the Samurais attempt to stab Musashi in the back however is stopped by Zoro.
Yoshinobu would warn Zoro, however it was too late- Musashi cut Zoro in the back. Yoshinobu quickly grabs Zoro and tells the Strawhats to run as well, as the entire Shogun chases them.

Now I’ll first tell you the influence of such a thing, well you see, until real-life Tokugawa Yoshinobu, a Sei i Taishogun took power, the Emperor wasn’t the real ruler of Japan, he was only an official figure when everything was in fact ruled by the Shogunate and the Sei i Taishogun basically.

So because of this influence I think the following will happen: When they hide Yoshinobu will tell them the history of Musashi and Wano.
Until some time ago, Wano was ruled by the Emperor, however one day came the powerful Swordsman Musashi, he defeated the commander of the Emperor’s Army, the previous Sei i Taishogun and seized power for himself, now he rules Wano with an iron fist and also turned Wano to a country for the Underworld trade- Musashi in fact serves the only man that ever defeated him- the broker “King”.
At some point, he became a Shichibukai, however Fujitora was very against him becoming a Shichibukai, as he is the one who blinded him. Well you see, Fujitora is none other than the previous Sei i Taishogun!

Now they, the rebels want to bring down Musashi and “King” and have the Emperor rule again.
          Luffy would agree to help.

          Tashigi and Smoker arrive:
The rebel’s leader would be revealed to be Kitetsu, the one who created Zoro’s Sandai Kitetsu, the cursed sword, he is also a hermit and a friend of Kumadori.
He is unnaturally old, and he will be the one to explain the concept of an “Entity” and he will reveal Asura is an Entity in the Sandai Kitetsu.
Because he is Kumadori’s friend, the CP9 would agree to help. Rob Lucci is a broker but he is a rival of King, and therefore also Musashi.
In fact, I believe that the headquarters of the rebels would be at Kitetsu’s shop, and because of that guess who will enter the store? Tashigi and Smoker.

Tashigi will be surprised (Not in a good way though) to find the Strawhats, especially Zoro.
Despite that, they’ll offer their help.

          Arrival of King:
At that moment, the broker “King” will arrive, after Musashi noted to him that the Strawhats arrived, from now on we’ll see a fight between 2 forces for the rule- at one side King and the Shogunate at the other the Emperor and the rebels.

          CHAPTER 4: FINAL BATTLE
          List of duels with reasoning:

Now, all the Strawhats and their allies would fight, but I’d like to only note the important ones of them.

          Roronoa Zoro vs. Musashi:
Obviously a very important fight, after all it’s Musashi who inspired Zoro to become a Swordsman, in this fight Zoro will use Asura again, and perhaps when even that won’t work- he’ll open his left eye, showing that in fact it is only there to be a restraint and in fact he is even stronger than that.
He will also show an ability to cut the elements in this fight.

EDIT: It is also possible that Zoro would take Musashi’s sword after defeating him, though it’s also possible he’ll just leave Musashi’s 2 swords for Tashigi.

          Monkey D. Luffy vs. King:
According to my theory, King would be even stronger than Musashi and Luffy would fight him.

          Sanji vs. the ninja leader:
I think that the Ninjas would be on Musashi’s side (He’ll hire them), during this fight Sanji would be able to turn invicible after learning it from the Ninjas they fought the night before, and by that also accomplishing one of his dreams.

          Impact:
I think there will be a massive impact, the first is that after Musashi is defeated, the World Government at the Reverie would abolish the Shichibukai system once and for all.
I also think that it will mark a collapse of the Underworld trade and would lead to the big fight against Kaido in Kano Kuni.

          So what do you think?

            FORESHADOWING MIHAWK’S DEATH

The above manga cover below, shows Oda sensei foreshadowed Ace’s death. We can see Luffy is crying while holding skull card in his left hand — symbolizing death, and ace spade – symbolizing Ace at his right hand.

Now, let us discuss this new manga cover. This cover contains many information like the gear 4th of Luffy was linked to the appearance of Nightmare Luffy in Thriller Bark arc, its chapters are flipped — Nightmare Luffy first appeared in chapter 487 and in chapter 784, Luffy’s gear 4th shows. Plus, the picnic of Strawhat Pirates with the zombies directed us to the thriller bark, the only arc where zombies appeared.

Now let us discuss the other thing on this cover. I think that, same as he foreshadowed Ace’s death, Odachi is foreshadowing Mihawk’s death. Yeah, I don’t think that Zoro is the subject of this foreshadowing scheme but I strongly believe that it was a man or person that is a relative to him or we can say his inspiration. In 2 year time-skip, I believe that they developed a relation like master and student or whatever it is, Zoro wants to beat Mihawk at one time for the reason to be the world’s greatest swordsman but this will not happen due to Mihawk will be killed by a specific person, it’s Shiliew of the rain, the former warden of Impel down and a current member of Blackbeard Pirates.

Zoro’s shirt have a skull (red cirle) on it that symbolizing death and with the word “ULTIMO” (final) above the skull and “MEJOR” below it (good/best)(yellow circle) and beside him a grave cross with December 20 944 (green circle) printed on it. At the left side of this portrait.

And also you can see there a treasure chest with gold cross at the right side of the cover. We have now “final”, “best” and “cross”. Now if we try to think about this, the only best with a cross is Mihawk since his signature is a cross and he’s the best swordsman of the world (Honestly, I can’t get a thought about the word “final/last”).

Mihawk will be killed by Shiliew at chapter 944 and because of this, Zoro will direct his anger to Shiliew and their battle will be the battle of swordsman who will fight for the title of “World’s Greatest Swordsman” and Zoro will avenge the death of his master and will kill Shiliew, and I don’t know what chapter that is.. Dahahahaha!

So, what are your thoughts about this?

              SANJI AND HIS PAST

Sanji has always been one of the most underestimated characters in One Piece. I think and I believe that everyone agrees that Oda is gearing Sanji up for something great in the future.

While looking back at the One Piece SBS’s I found something interesting in SBS Volume 20.

R: Oda-sensei, out of the 5 crew members Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Nami and Sanji, what animals do you think they most resemble?

              O:

              • Luffy’s a monkey
              • Zoro is… a shark
              • Usopp, an armadillo
              • Nami’s a cat
              • And Sanji’s a duck.

But there’s one thing I AM confident about. I THINK CHOPPER IS A REINDEER. (DOOOON)

Oda states that Sanji resembles a DUCK

So this leads me to think that the life of Sanji is based off the story The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen.

Lets look at the actual story to see the connections and comparisons between the life of the ugly duckling and Sanji.

              Here is the link
              http://hca.gilead.org.il/ugly_duc.html

Seeing that Duval was said to be under some curse at child birth and had that same curly eyebrow as Sanji I believe that this may foreshadow a similar flashback of Sanji’s past.

Likewise in The Ugly Duckling, the duckling was being teased and was rejected by all the animals.
Also, the ugly duckling was last to born and was born too mature which made it look strange and deformed.

So, with that being said, I believe that Sanji may have had an unnatural birth where Sanji was looked down upon because of his curly eyebrow or because he was overdue.

Lets look back at one the manga chapters to validate this.

Here we see Usopp stating that Sanji may have been born under some miracle star.
So maybe Sanji was born during some great event or it is referencing to his miracle birth, kinda like the birth of Jesus.

In the story, the ugly duckling’s mother stated that the ducklings looked liked their father and that the FATHER LEFT.

This leads me to believe that Sanji had a father that abandoned him and his mother when he was born.
I think that Sanji’s father was a World Noble that had many wives and Sanji’s mom was one of them although I don’t believe that Sanji had siblings.

And here is proof that World Nobles do have more than one wife

Eventually, the ugly duckling was teased by everyone soo much that the mother duckling rejected it.

Therefore, I believe that Sanji’s mother loved and wanted to keep Sanji but Sanji’s World Noble father and other World Nobles saw Sanji as an abomination maybe because

              1) Sanji had a weird curly eyebrow

              2) He was overdue and had strange physical features

              or..

              3) The World Nobles saw the curly eyebrow as a curse and it was prophesied that Sanji will be born and bring destruction to the World Nobles!

Okay… I know that last part was crazy but it could be possible

This doesn’t really seem far-fetched because of what Sanji said to Kuma

Anyways, I strictly believe that Sanji was resented by his Father and the other World Nobles.

So as a result of this malice towards Sanji I would make sense that the World Nobles put Sanji’s mother back into common life and forced Sanji’s mother to put him up for adoption or straight up abandon him to die!

But I think that she put him up for adoption to protect him.

This may explain why Sanji does not talk or bring up his parents because he was separated from them when he was still an infant

In the end where the ugly duckling turns into a beautiful swan, I believe that this forshadows Sanji becoming the real star in the Final War and fucking shit up at Marejois.

Turning from that underestimated pirate into a well known pirate.

Kaido has a Dragon Devil Fruit

Shortly after the Straw Hats’ arrival in Dressrosa, Luffy had tried to fly Momonosuke because of the flying ability that Momonosuke had displayed and used unconsciously to save both Luffy and himself from remaining in the pit wherein Luffy first stumbled upon him

, but Momonosuke dreadfully and loudly rejected the idea of flying ‘again’ through the ‘skies’ despite having no memory of the time when he had flown out of the pit together with Luffy, wherein there was no ‘sky’.

While he was about to shout his rejection of such idea, Momonosuke was recalling somebody’s hand reaching out to grab him.

That event from his memory appears to be the cause of his aviophobia(fear of flying). The person from his flashback is suggested to have a flying ability, and the Dragon Devil Fruit possesses a flying ability.

When Momo was loudly rejecting the idea of flying again, his father was composedly listening to what was happening with no sign of surprise. This indicates that his father is aware of the misfortune that befell Momo. This further suggests that this had happened long before both Momo’s consumption of an artificial Dragon Devil Fruit and their separate arrivals in PH.

At Punk Hazard, Kinemon both exhibited great abhorrence of ‘dragons’ and confirmed to Brook that he has a ‘personal vendetta’ against them. I do not think that such hatred and vendetta could develop from having his ‘lower third’ attached to a dragon (the first dragon that greeted Luffy, Zoro, Usopp and Robin when they first set foot on the blazing half of Punk Hazard) since it is normally IMPOSSIBLE for one to confirm by only his lower third the nature of the being or thing to which it (his lower third) was attached.

Kinemon also showed great detestation of ‘pirates’ when sanji had first introduced himself and the rest of his group to him as pirates.

After Momo had consumed Vegapunk’s artificial Dragon Devil Fruit and successfully managed to escape his pursuers at Punk Hazard, he found himself facing a mirror. Upon looking at the reflection of his dragon form on the mirror, he paled and shouted a loud scream. This appears to be a phobic reaction to dragons.

When Luffy and Momo were stranded in that pit, Luffy introduced himself to Momo as the man who will become the pirate king. Upon hearing that, Momo had become fidgety and nervous and gave a description of ‘pirates’ that matches Kaido’s description. This could suggest that Momo met Kaido in person, and his nervousness could be due to the fear he harbours about Kaido due to a certain event/ events.

When Kaido’s underling was trying to update kaido with the news of Joker’s defeat, he was looking toward the sky, which means that he believed that Kaido was in the sky, if not on the apex of some mountain.

In that very chapter, Kaido reached sky island with neither the company nor the knowledge of his crew members.

It was shown to us that Drake and several other crew members of Kaido were talking about the news whereas Kaido himself was on the sky island.

It was therefore evident that such method of attaining sky island is strictly related to his abilities.

In this week’s chapter it was revealed to us, along with his identity, that Kaido has the strongest body structure you could find in all the living things that swim, crawl and fly this earth. Dragons are known to possess such attributes as robust scales that could withstand blades and spears that aim to penetrate their skin as well as wings that allow them to fly and reach such altitudes. Since Kaido’s body was described to be immune to blades and spears that aimed to penetrate it, from this aspect his attributes strongly support the idea that he possesses the Dragon Devil Fruit.

After Caesar’s downfall at Luffy’s hands, Kinemon told his son, in the middle of their meal, to trust that ‘they’ are all right.

My theory is that ‘they’ refers to the people from Wa. To be worried about their safety means that they are going through some kind of crisis. A crisis of this level that affects an entire nation whose citizens are so strong inasmuch as not even the marines can go near them can only be caused by one of the four emperors.

When the Straw Hats, Law and the samurai had left Punk Hazard and were heading to Dressrosa, Law revealed Kaido’s epithet. Upon hearing that, Momo and Kinemon both showed expressions of fear and shock. When asked by Zoro what was wrong, Kinemon untruthfully replied that nothing was wrong.

Right after Kinemon had untruthfully answered Zoro that nothing was wrong, he reacted frightfully to the dragon form of his own child and started nervously asking about his (Momo’s) whereabouts. Kinemon’s mind should have been preoccupied by the dragon next to him, but the very sight of that dragon triggered feelings of worry about his son’s whereabouts.

Afterwards, when everyone was gathered and having dinner, Kinemon revealed to them that they were ‘chased’ by people whose identity he wished not to reveal(probably for the safety of the people who aided him recover both his body portions and his son – the Straw Hats).

In both instances Kinemon concealed matters connected to kaido. In this week’s chapter we discover that Kaido’s goons were ‘chasing’ the ‘samurai’.

This establishes another strong connection between Kaido and the people of Wa. My theory is that Kinemon’s group was chased by Kaido’s goons when they were trying to go to Zo. And the crisis that befell Wa had been caused by Kaido.

Kaido is the only one that could have breached the strong security of Wa and did what was done to Momo by his flying abilities. This explains Momo’s accurate description of Kaido, his phobic reaction to dragons, and the fear he harbours about him from the event that caused him aviophobia. This also explains Kinemon’s ‘personal vendetta’ against ‘dragons’, his feelings of worry about the whereabouts of his child that surfaced at the sight of a dragon, and his strong dislike of ‘pirates’ because it is only natural for one to develop such feelings after having his son exposed to such traumatic experience and his country exposed to such crisis (conquest of Wa).

Let’s also not dismiss that Gear 4 was conceived to combat celestial/ flying enemies too.

These are my thoughts for why Kaido must possess the dragon ability.

                Thank you for reading.

                  Straw Hats Trivia

D: Oda-sensei! Please tell me the order in which the members of the Straw Hat Pirates joined the crew! I’m really grateful! P.N. Yoshikawa

O: New readers!! Yep, that’s right. I didn’t realize. One Piece has been going for 15 years already. P.N. Maaa-kun is 10 years old. Then I’ll tell you. When you grow up, try reading about the origins of the Straw Hat Pirates. The inset numbers are the order in which the crew members joined. This is the first time that the heights of the crew members two years later have been released in the volumes. By the way, before the Thousand Sunny, the ship they sailed in was the Going Merry .

THE WINGED PEOPLE AND THE ANCIENT WEAPONS

Hello once again everyone and welcome back to another theory for your entertainment. This time I shall be talking about the Winged people and the Ancient Weapons. The winged people and Ancient weapons bares a lot of references to Greek Mythology and the Book of Genesis in Christianity.

This is the painting Enel found on the moon.

Those 3 winged people represents the 3 ancient weapons Uranus, Poseidon and Pluton. Each winged race correlates to an ancient weapon and the p0stion and nature of a winged race correlates to what an ancient weapons does.

                    Skypiean-Uranus-To Create-God of the Sky-The Top-Creationism

Uranus is the power to create and those who wields it are pretty much gods. The Skypieans appear to have a talent for inventing. The Skypieans also appear to be the ones who created the dials. Simply put, the Skypieans were the gods of the OP world and the weapon Uranus gave rise to the special clouds in Skypiea and the Devil Fruits(The Tree of Knowledge).

There are sky people creating new ways to control weather.

There are more creations of Uranus and the Sky People.

However, the Skypieans have lost their god status and have been reduced to regular citizens.

                    Shandian-Poseidon-To Control-God of Water-The Middle-Evolution

Poseidon is the ability to control sea kings and it represent the Shandians. The Shandian you see in the picture has a fish head and in Skypiea….

The Shandian city Shandora had a poneglyph with info on Poseidon.

Oh and for the Shandians and Poseidon representing evolution….

The Shandians also appear to be the opposite of the Shypieans. Unlike Skypieans, the Shandians look like Native Americans/primitive savages.

While in the blue sea, the Shandians had no technology and survived from resources from their natural surroundings. They are so outdated that they even resemble ancient Aztecs who believes in a primitive religion.

The Shandians were being CONTROLLED by their own foolish religion until they were saved by Montblanc Noland.

The “god” the Shandians believed in that were leading them to their demise was a giant snake which is a reference to how the devil transformed into a snake to trick Adam and Eve.

The land of the Shandians is called “Jaya” is a reference to the Greek god Gaia, also known as “Mother Earth.” Gaia had a union with Uranus (Father Heaven)the first 12 Titans who ruled during the legendary Golden Age descended from her and Uranus.

The Shandians spent centuries defending their illustrious golden city that lost in time. A city being covered in roots and moss.

However, when the Shandians ending up in Skypiea, their land was stolen by the Skypieans(god) and a war ensued to get their land back. The war made the Shandians DESTRUCTIVE.

The Shandians tired killing anyone who got in their way regardless on who it was and was prepared to step over their comrades to achieve their goal. However, being destructive is not their nature.

                    Birkan-Pluton-To Destroy-God of the Underworld-The Bottom-Extinction

Pluton is a battleship capable of great destruction and it correlates to the nature of the Birkans. Pluton is named after the Greek god Hades and symbolizes war. Birkans have larger wing spans than Skypieans and Shandians and appear to have a natural gift for combat almost as if they are purely soldiers.

                    The Birkans

The Birkan’s natural destructive nature and martial prowess.

Remember when I said the Birkans were “the bottom” and soldiers? Well in Skypiea lead by Enel, the Birkans forcefully risen to “the top.”

The Shandians lost control of their homeland to the Skypieans and as if they were taking advantage of the chaos, the Birkans used God’s creations(DF and dials) to strip the Skypieans of their god status.

The Birkans took Shandora for themselves and started a new war between the Birkans and the Shandians.

                    This pic symbolizes such.

Since the Birkans stole the role of the Shandians, they became the “new poseidons.” Look at Enel with “Poseidon’s trident.”

Another hint to the Birkans becoming the new “Poseidons” is the birkan Gedatsu discovering a hot spring near Alabasta.

The Birkans then controlled Skypiea with fear using their overwhelming power.

                    ********************

Now then, a few things that I couldn’t insert into the theory without making things confusing(to me).

1- The birkans STOLE the position of GOD right? Does it remind you of the Tenryubitto “gods” stealing the OP world for themselves 800 years ago? If so, you are half right. 19 of the 20 Kingdoms that created the WG are thieves, but the main Tenryubitto family simply took their world back as they are the remaining “pure” humans in the world. Don’t get it? The head Tenryubitto family is responsible for the creation of the OP world(lets call it Vearth) over 5000 years ago. They are the first, the originals and the creators and that is a theory for another time.

2- The Skypieans have an idol.

                    Seem familiar?

Since we’re on the topic of Greek Mythology and that the OP world has a lot of strange species, could this be the OP version of Titans? The idol represents the yearnings of the sky people(gods) and the titans are the second order of divine beings and proceeds its successor gods.

                    *Theory by Vandenreich
