Recently a man resident in Nagoya has been arrested for copyright infringement because of online selling US dollar bills featuring One Piece characters.

DRACULE MIHAWK

“Hawkeye” Mihawk is the greatest swordsman in all of the world, and a member of the powerful Shichibukai. He is Zoro Roronoa’s ultimate rival and the one he hopes to one day surpass.

Dracule Mihawk is possibly one of the most serious characters in One Piece; very little seems to surprise him, he rarely smiles, and he has only been seen laughing twice in the series so far. He takes the revelation about Luffy being Dragon’s son in stride, despite the surprise of those around him. He never unnecessarily reveals emotions on the battlefield, even when he is trumped.

True to his epithet, “Hawk Eyes”, Dracule Mihawk has exceptional eyesight, able to easily track Luffy’s high-speed Gear Second Movements, and strike with extreme precision, releasing a long-range slash at him while there was a chaotic battlefront of New World pirates and Marine officers between them. In addition, he is also a talented teacher: after training Zoro for two years, he accomplished more than the dojo had achieved in the many years Zoro had trained there (though it helped that Zoro’s skills were already greatly developed by the time he became Mihawk’s disciple).

Although he has never been seen resorting to physical combat, his fortitude suggests that he naturally possesses superhuman strength and resilience.

It is especially worth noting that, during the Battle of Marineford, while the Whitebeard Pirates (one of the strongest pirate crews in the world, with top members Whitebeard and Ace being killed, Marco being heavily-wounded and Jozu losing his right arm), the Marine Admirals (with Akainu taking a severe beating from Whitebeard’s attacks and Aokiji being harmed for the first time in the whole series) and the Shichibukai (with Moriah, Kuma, Teach and former members Crocodile and Jinbe being heavily-wounded) had very difficult battles, Mihawk had remained truly unscathed through the whole conflict.  In terms of combat, Mihawk is the single greatest swordsman alive in the One Piece world, naturally commenting on his immense mastery of swordsmanship: back in the East Blue Saga (where Zoro, while at his weakest in the storyline, was still notorious across that entire stretch of ocean as the “Pirate Hunter” and had effectively mastered both “Santoryu” and “Nitoryu” fighting styles), he was capable of effortlessly defeating a three sword-wielding Zoro with the single “crucifix” knife, his Kogatana, hung around his neck disguised as a pendant, generally used as a dinner knife.

He has been known to have frequently fought with Shanks when they were younger. He is also skilled at teaching, as he was shown to have taught Zoro quite extensively during their two years together.

DON QUIXOTE DOFLAMINGO

Don Quixote Doflamingo is the leader of the Don Quixote Family and king of Dressrosa. He rules an underground organization under his alias, Joker.

Much of Doflamingo past is unknown, but he was seen to be present at the public execution of Gold Roger when he was seventeen years old. He would go on to create a dangerous reputation for himself, but he doesn’t believe in the ideal of dreams. As a dangerous and famous pirate, Doflamingo was invited by the World Government to join the Seven Warlords. He prophetically speaks of the inevitable dawn of a “new era,’ believing that it will be a time where only strength will prevail. His prestige has made lesser pirates, such as Bellamy the Hyena, serve under him to uphold his belief of this “new era.” He rules a secret underground of illegal dealings under the name “Joker”. Among those are the slave trade auctions at Sabody Archipelago.

While the nature of Doflamingo’s powers are widely unknown it is assumed that he has eaten a Devil Fruit. He can manipulate the bodies of others to his will and make precision cutting with an unseen force.

SHANKS

Shanks Le Roux is the captain of the Red-Haired pirates, and one of the members of the Four Emperors. The man who inspired Luffy to be a pirate. Seen as the man who inspired Monkey D. Luffy to follow his dream to become the King of the Pirates. He gave Luffy his treasured straw hat as a promise between them that he would one say become a great pirate and return it to him.

Shanks is easily recognized by his red hair and three marked scar over his left eye. A mark that was given to him as a young pirate by Blackbeard. He also lost his left arm to a sea monster when saving the life of young Luffy from drowning. He has a rather bohemian appearance for a captain of a whole pirate crew. Always wearing a white unbuttoned and untucked shirt, long patterned shorts, sandals, and a draping black coat over his shoulders.

Shanks primarily fights with a single sword, but is also known to use the ability called Haki. This power can cause people much weaker then he is to pass out in his presence and has been shown to have the ability to cancel out any of the Devil Fruits powers. Besides this, Shanks has shown to have no super powers.

His power and influence as a pirate is known world wide as a member of the Four Pirate Emperors.

NEFERTARI VIVI

Nefertari Vivi is the princess of Alabasta. She is one of the main antagonists of the Reverse Mountain Arc but shortly after traveled with the Straw Hat Pirates for most of the Alabasta Saga. She has had no part in the main story after the Straw Hats left Alabasta, but has occasionally been shown to be keeping track of their progress.

Vivi is extremely good at moving about undetected, establishing herself as a single digit member of Baroque Works for two years before her identity was compromised, and returning to Alabasta unnoticed by the citizens. As a princess, Vivi does not have much experience in battle. However, as the ninth pair of Baroque Works, she and her partner surpass four other pairs of the organization. Vivi can also make use of  Carue in spite his frequent incompetence. On her own, she shows surprising natural agility, often dodging attacks gracefully, and almost instinctively, as she usually seems surprised after it happens. She tends to tackle her opponent and hold them down (seen with Luffy and Kohza twice). Her techniques, coupled with the tumbling of Mr.9, gives the pair a dancing theme. Her weapons of choice are her twirling “Kujakki (Peacock) Slashers”, which are small sharp jewels attached to her fingers by wires. She is left handed, but is capable of spinning the discs with both hands.

BOA HANCOCK

Boa Hancock is the Empress of Amazon Lily and member of the Seven Warlords of the Sea. She ate the Love-Love Devil Fruit that allows her to change people into stone.

Boa Hancock possessed the powers of the Paramecia type Devil Fruit called the Love-Love Fruit (メロメロの実, mero-mero no mi). Many of her powers require her to first entice her victims with her charms. Any with impure thoughts will be turned to stone. So far, Monkey D. Luffy has been the only person immune.

Love-Love Fruit Techniques

• Love-Love Beam: The Love-Love Beam (メロメロ甘風[メロウ], Mero Mero Merrow) attack is one of Hancock’s most favored attacks. By first striking an alluring pose, she plants the seed of lust in either men or women. She then forms her hands in the shape of heart and fires a beam that changes anyone it hits into stone. This can only be undone using the Mezameyo (目覚めよ, Mezameyo) technique. This is used by blowing a kiss from her hand toward the person she froze in stone.
• Pistol Kiss: The Pistol Kiss (銃[ピストル]キス Pisutoru Kisu) technique is used when Hancock kisses the tip of her finger and blows a kiss. This creates a small floating heart that she then pierces with her finger and fires as she would a gun.
• Slave Arrow: The Slave Arrow (虜の矢[スレイブ･アロー], Sureibu Arō) is similar in use to the Pistol Kiss. The Slave Arrow attack is form by blowing a kiss to form a much larger heart, it’s stretch and grabbed like bow. She draws back on the rear of the heart. Once release, it created a barrage of arrows that turns all they hit into stone. It’s powerful enough to even stop a cannon ball in mid-air.
• Perfume Femur: The Perfume Femur (芳香脚[パフューム･フェムル], Pafyūmu Femuru) attack requires no activation and it used with her close combat skills. With this technique, it causes anyone she kicks to turn to partially stone in the general area of the strike, but doesn’t spread to the rest of the body. The infected area become brittle and prone to cracks and crumbling.

The powers of Haki (覇気, haki) were a mystery for much of their time in the One Piece series until Rayleigh revealed they are somethign innate in every human. Those who have attained fame in the world are those with the most powerful Haki. There are three forms and each person tends toward the form that suits them best. Few can master all three, even with training. Boa Hancock, has been shown to know how to use two Haki forms. The powers of Haki are well known on Amazon Lily, but most citizens are unaware of the Devil Fruits.

• Armament Haki: is an attack power that is famous for it’s abilities to cancel out even the most powerful of the Devil Fruit powers. It can also be infused into weapons such as arrows, and in Hancock’s Pistol Kiss attack.
• Conqueror’s Spirit: is the power to command and control the wills of others. A wave of force will overcome all within an area. The weak of willed will pass out, and some stronger enemies will be tamed into temporary submission to the will of the user.

PORTOGAS D. ACE

Portgas D Ace was the former 2nd division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, and adoptive brother of Monkey D. Luffy. Son of the Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

Ace holds the powers of the Flame-Flame Fruit (メラメラの実, Mera Mera no Mi). This is one of the powerful logia-type devil fruits. This has altered the make up of his body into a living flame. This also makes him immune to physical based attacks. Punches, swords, and even gunshots will pass through his body leaving him completely unharmed.

• Sun Flare: The Sun Flare (陽炎, Kagerō) technique is used when Ace first clashed against Smoker. A stream of flames pored from his hands and enveloped Smoker’s cloud. The two attacks canceled each other out. The FUNimation dub called this attack Heat Haze.
• Fire Fist: The Fire Fist (火拳, Hiken) attack is one of Ace’s more favored techniques, and is the source of his nickname “Fire Fist Ace”. With this technique, Ace fires a giant column of pure fire from his fist. It’s powerful enough to destroy several giant ships in a single strike.
• Fire Gun: The Fire Gun (火銃, Higan) attack is use when Ace holds out his hand like a gun, the tip of him finger becomes a flame, and he shoots out a bullet made of fire.
• Flame Commandment: The Flame Commandment (炎戒, Enkai) is a technique Ace uses to summon large amounts of fire in preparation for a powerful attack. One of these is the Fire Pillar (火柱, Hibashira) attack. It creates a destructive pillar of fire that can be fired straight up or down.
• Firefly: The Firefly (蛍火, Hotarubi) technique is another preparation skill for another attack. Ace creates numerous, small glowing orbs of fire that silently surround his opponent. Their greenish glow makes them look like fireflies. However, when Ace then triggers the Fiery Doll (火達磨, Hidaruma) attack with this technique. These balls of super hot flame converge on the target and set their body instantly aflame.
  

  Haki

  Haki (覇気, Haki) is a power that is possessed by all people, but few can actually use it. It’s often unique to those with a strong enough will to control. This power is even strong enough to cancel out the powers of Devil Fruit users, but even they can use this skill. There are three basic forms of Haki, and Ace has only been seen to be able to use one.

  • Conqueror’s Haki: The skill known as Conqueror’s Haki (覇王色, Haoushoku Haki) is one of the rarest forms of Haki.It’s an intimidation tactic that is not to be abused, because it will effect all that surround. When used it an cause people surrounding the user to pass out or even control the person’s will for a short time. Ace was completely unaware he had this power, and he only used it once as a young boy to stop Bluejam from killing Luffy.

NICO ROBIN

Nico Robin is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates. She ate the Hana-Hana Fruit. From this she can bloom any part of her body like a flower. She is a cool and mature beauty.

As a young child Robin ate the Hana-Hana Fruit (Hana is the Japanese word for flower/bloom.). This enables her to cause any part of her body to bloom anywhere withing her line of sight, including on her own body. She isn’t a physically strong person, but her abilities allow her to strike from a distance, and requires a certain level of concentration. She also feels the pain that is inflicted on these grown limbs. When using any of her abilities there are flower petals floating in the air, and when her grown limbs disappear they normally evaporate into flower petals.

The patters in the names of Robin’s attacks always start with a word in Spanish. Normally, meaning the number of limbs she wishes to produce. The suffix is the word Fluer, French for flower. Often times followed by a certain command of the attack. Her most frequent attack is to bind a target’s body with multiple arms so they are unable to move, then either twist, break backward, or slap. Often time to break bones in the process. The names of the commands are in English. Her powers have also been used to catch falling comrades. Creating vines of arms, nets to break falls, or carry injured out of harm’s way.

Franky is the cyborg shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates. A wild guy who runs on cola and covered in weapons.

Franky is similar to Nico Robin , since he was first introduced as an opponent of the crew, but would alter join. He was a boss of a gang of delinquents he gathered from around Water 7 and gathered them to form the Franky Family. They were dismantlers who would steal ships to break apart and sell for parts. If the crew were pirates with bounties, they were given up for the money. He’s more often seen wearing wild Hawaiian-style shirts, a small speedo, and sunglasses. A flamboyant character who likes to put his arms together to strike a pose and shout out “SUPER!”. Written on each shoulder is “BF-36”. This stands for Battle Franky, the designation he game to all his home made battle ship.

He’s represented by the color light-blue, and smells of cola. This is because he’s a cyborg character who power source is cola. Since he actually created himself as a cyborg, only the front part of his and his arms are mechanical. The rear half is still flesh and blood. Build within each arm are weapons such as cannon, bean shooters, and his fist become a flail.

Franky is a powerfully built man with a height of at least seven feet, and he is the second tallest member of the Straw Hats. He is a cyborg. His forearms are relatively enormous while his biceps are comparably small. He has brightly-colored blue hair and blue star tattoos on his forearms. His choice of clothing usually comprises of a speedo, which causes people to call him a pervert, and an open loud Hawaiian shirt that has a large golden chain necklace around his neck. He has two Jolly Rogers. The one on the right has been used by Toei Animation, and the one on the left was drawn by Oda in a SBS.
