If you re-watch Marineford, you will see something very peculiar; when the admirals fight high members of the WB crew, it seems as if those high members didn’t have haki.

And in these videos, do you find it weird that even though ace’s hand got touched by LAVA it didn’t even bleed? And do you really think that neither Ace, Marco, or Vista had haki? No, i believe that their is a way that a logia can bypass haki and become their element even when hit by haki

THE CONQUERING METHOD
Now this method probably wasn’t used by the admirals, since i doubt any of them had CoC; but i do believe that it was used by both Sabo and Ace. Basically, this in this method; the user uses CoC to conquer the opponents’ haki, turning their armament fist into a regular fist

THE CoA+CoO METHOD
I believe this was the method the admirals used during the fight. Here’s what i think

• first, the admirals used CoO to monitor the haki level of the incoming punch
• next they used CoA to exactly match the level of haki of the incoming punch
• when the haki of the admiral met the haki of their opponent, since their hakis were exactly the same; they cancelled each other out, therefore the fist acts normally on the body
