Crocodile printed on the paper Cora-san was reading

D: I have a question for Odacchi. In “The White City”, chapter 762 of volume 76, during the scene where Law stabs Cora-san, I found Crocodile printed on the paper Cora-san was reading.

So what was that article about?          P.N. Yamamoto・Sugiyama・Hori

SBS78 3 Crocodile

O: Yes. I’m quite impressed you found this one~. As you’ve pointed out, if you look really closely, you can find Crocodile there.

This was from the time when Law was 10 and Doflamingo was 25; 16 years ago from now. Crocodile was 30 at the time.

Similar to Luffy, back when he was young, Crocodile’s name spread across the seas with incredible momentum, but soon after he was admitted into the Shichibukai in his mid-20’s, he tried to fight Whitebeard and was completely and utterly crushed by him.

Though he seemingly calmed down at this point, his eyes became set on the kingdom of Alabasta, and it happened to be precisely during this time period that he was being featured in the papers as a hero who hunted down pirates. In other words, that was an article reporting the acts of heroism by Crocodile at the time!

ZORO’S CURSE AND DAMNATION: WADO ICHIMONJI’S BLESSING

If you’ve been reading my other theories about Zoro, you’d know that I said Zoro would gain a fire sword and will lose control of his inner demons in Wano and will “die.” He’ll become a bloodthirsty rampaging demon but he will have assistance in regaining control.

Lets get to Zoro’s fire sword first. Its common knowledge by now that Zoro wants a fire sword and is interested in Wano’s fire cutting technique. However, Zoro already has a fire sword.

And what sword did Zoro use to cut Ryuma down? The Wado Ichimonji

In Zoro’s fight with Ryuma, it was the first time we’ve seen him struggle so badly against a REAL swordsman. It was also in this fight that Zoro’s swords were close to breaking.

Its no coincidence that Zoro just so happened to use a fire attack in that moment. Ryuma was a zombie who couldn’t feel pain. The initial cut would’ve done nothing and the fight would’ve continued, resulting in Zoro’s Wado Ichimonji and Sandai Kitetsu breaking. Zoro was assisted.

Something similar happened way back in Alabasta.

Zoro was no match for Daz Bones and was on the verge on death. Coincidently though, Zoro conveniently learned the hear the breath of all things which was exactly what he needed to beat Bones. Beforehand, Zoro couldn’t understand Koshiro’s teachings.

What bugged me about this scene was that the sword he heard the breathing of in the panel was the Wado Ichimonji and….

He defeated Daz Bones with the Wado Ichimonji.

Where am I going with this? Keep reading if you want to find out.
    ********************

I believe that all cursed words are possessed by a soul/spirit. Souls can be contained inside fruits so why not objects? We’ve even a sword with a DF ability(Spandam).

Swords possessed by bad/evil spirits become cursed swords. For example, Hakuba is the bad spirit of Durandal and his curse takes over Cavendish whenever he loses consciousness.

The Wado Ichimonji has a spirit inside of it as well, but it is not cursed, as the spirit is good/pure.

The spirit of the Wado Ichinmonji is Kuina. The Wado Ichimonji, in a way, is a blessed/holy sword. It even has a white sheath to symbolize it as such. Wado Ichimonji is Zoro’s humanity.

However, the blessing of the Wado Ichimonji only works in critical moments because not only is Zoro’s spirit itself that of a savage beast, he has a cursed sword Sandai Kitetsu, and the evil entity of that blade is leading Zoro on a path of bloodlust and carnage. Sandai Kitetus’ sheath is red and it symbolizes bloodlust.

Zoro acquired the Black Blade Shuusi and it has a black sheath. However, the sword and the sheath has a streak of red, also indicating bloodlust.

Over the timeskip, Shuusui seems to have become Zoro’s favorite blade as he used it for all of his one-sword style attacks Post-TS. Pre-ts, it was the Wado Ichimonji. This symbolizes Zoro gradually losing his humanity and becoming more n’ more like a demon.

Its like a battle of Yin vs Yang. In Wano, Zoro will lose control of his inner demons but the Wado Ichimonji will bring him back to his senses. The Sandai Kitetsu will be replaced with the Nidai Kitetsu.
