Lucci vs Luffy was one of the most epic fights in One Piece. There was a lot of emotion behind this fight in regards to Robin and her rescue. There was also the fact that Lucci had already been shown as completely and utterly dominant. But it was also the first in-depth look into Gear Second and the introduction to Gear Third which are awesome techniques. The venue of the fight changed places, as well did the actual form of Lucci. It felt like there were separate fights all rolled into one. Usopp screaming at Luffy was powerful and the final move where Luffy staggers and finally unleashes Jet Gatling is just breath taking. Really just an amazing fight!

Sir John Hawkins: Son of a extremely wealthy ship builder,Privateer in the Elizabethan era. English shipbuilder, naval administrator and commander, merchant, spy, navigator, pirate and slave trader. Often sailed with his second cousin Sir Francis Drake, waged battles against his arch enemy Sancho Pardo Donlebun with Drake, suberb naval strategist. Led many battles against the Spanish. Created a new faster warship. The first English trader to trade with the New World. Hawkins died at sea off Puerto Rico

Sir Francis Drake: Privateer in the Elizabethan era. Was the eldest of 12 sons. Prowled the shipping lanes of the coast of France. Did the first circumpolar navigation, sailed often with his second cousin Sir John Hawkins. Has a deep hatred for the Spanish after some of his men were killed in a Mexican town. Sailed on the Golden Hind and plundered Spanish Shipping off the coast of South America Died of the coast of Puerto Rico

Aruj: Born in 1473 on the island of Lesbos. Was one in four brothers all were also privateers. Was a privateer before he became ruler of Algiers, was captrued and made a slave by the King of Islands of Rhodes, eventually escaping. Was known for attaching sails to canons and riding across the desert. Was killed in battle against the Spainards.

Chui A-Poo: A notorious Chinese pirate in 19th century, commanded more than 50 boats, made his base in the South China Sea. After brutally murdering 2 English officers, he was hunted down and sentenced to exile to Tasmania but hung himself first.

After the Alabasta Arc, when Robin had joined the crew, Roronoa Zoro initially distrusted her, but later on he demonstrates that he cares for her too, as he is willing to fight for her when she is in danger, such as catching her when she was nearly killed by Enel and furiously attacking him for harming her; being the first one to jump to her aid when she was threatened by Aokiji; and jumping to her aid and protected her from getting killed by Hyouzou and said he would fight him in her place.

Furthermore, just like the rest of her friends, he fought to save her from Enies Lobby and won the key that eventually set her free. Robin herself is willing to protect him in any kind of danger he is in, such as how she desperately tried to save him from getting killed by Kizaru and stopping him from being killed by the water pressure when he wanted to exit the ship on the way towards Fishman Island. After Enies Lobby, Zoro completely trusts Robin and they both get along well with each other.

 

In Manga Dragon Ball x One Piece: Cross Epoch (クロス エポック) by Eiichiro Oda and Akira Toriyama  Luffy was able to ride Goku’s cloud, which means that Luffy has a pure heart.

True to his epithet, “Hawk Eyes”, Dracule Mihawk has exceptional eyesight, able to easily track Luffy’s high-speed Gear Second movements, and strike with extreme precision, releasing a long-range slash at him while there was a chaotic battlefront of New World pirates and Marine officers between them.

In addition, he is also a talented teacher: after training Zoro for two years, he accomplished more than the dojo had achieved in the many years Zoro had trained there (though it helped that Zoro’s skills were already greatly developed by the time he became Mihawk’s disciple). Zoro himself even admitted that even after training with Mihawk during the entirety of the (time-skip), while talking down to Pica, an elite officer of the former Donquixote Pirates, that he (Zoro) is still not anywhere near Mihawk’s level of skill with swordsmanship, further attesting to Mihawk’s combat and fighting prowess.

 

Mihawk’s strength is so great that Don Krieg accuses him of having the power of a Devil Fruit. While it has not yet been confirmed that he does not, the Databooks indicate that his abilities are from pure skill and power. This makes Mihawk the only known Shichibukai whose strength is based solely on human abilities (Jinbe being a Fishman).

His first demonstration of power was defeating all but one of Don Krieg’s fleet of 50 ships and 5,000 men by himself just before a storm struck. Perhaps the most accurate and evident demonstration of his incredible power is the fact that he has remained unharmed during the whole series thus far.

He is shown to have a strong will as he was able to resist Luffy’s Haki and be one of the few to still be able fight despite others around him falling unconscious. He also has great mental strength, shown when he is not one of the men to fall for the charms of Boa Hancock while most men easily fall for the pirate empress’ beauty and turned to stone.

Mihawk travels around in a coffin-shaped raft with two green-flamed candles, a single black sail, and a single seat. The fact that he can traverse the unforgiving oceans, as well as the Grand Line itself, in such a meager craft is yet another testament to his abilities.

The fact that Mihawk used to be a rival of one of the Yonko implies that Mihawk might be one of the strongest characters in the series.

Although he has never been seen resorting to physical combat outside of swordplay, his fortitude suggests that he naturally possesses superhuman strength and resilience, as he applied tremendous strength behind all of his swings, enough to split battleships and a mountain of ice with ease. Additionally, during his duel with Zoro, he was capable of effortlessly fending off his own superhuman strength with only one arm.

It is especially worth noting that, during the Battle of Marineford, while the Whitebeard Pirates (one of the strongest pirate crews in the world, with top members Whitebeard and Ace being killed, Marco being heavily-wounded and Jozu losing his right arm), the Marine Admirals (with Akainu taking a severe beating from Whitebeard’s attacks and Aokiji being harmed for the first time in the whole series) and the Shichibukai (with Moriah, Kuma, Teach and former members Crocodile and Jinbe being heavily-wounded) had very difficult battles, Mihawk had remained truly unscathed through the whole conflict.

Because of his status, defeating him is Roronoa Zoro’s ultimate goal. Mihawk also seems to have great strength, as he was able to stop Zoro, a formidable swordsman with great mastery and enormous strength even to launch entire buildings and destroy them with powerful slashes, with only a single dagger, and handling it with just one hand.

In terms of combat, Mihawk is the single greatest swordsman alive in the One Piece world, naturally commenting on his immense mastery of swordsmanship: back in the East Blue Saga (where Zoro, while at his weakest in the storyline, was still notorious across that entire stretch of ocean as the “Pirate Hunter” and had effectively mastered both “Santoryu” and “Nitoryu” fighting styles), he was capable of effortlessly defeating a three sword-wielding Zoro with the single “crucifix” knife, his Kogatana, hung around his neck disguised as a pendant, generally used as a dinner knife.

He has been known to have frequently fought with Shanks when they were younger. He is also skilled at teaching, as he was shown to have taught Zoro quite extensively during their two years together.

Mihawk demonstrates an immense skill in swordsmanship especially in reference to his Yoru. Having the abilities to slice and destroy entire fleets of ships or giant icebergs and yet graceful enough to deflect the course of bullets with only a slight touch. He is also able to cut through steel with ease and rapidity, as demonstrated with the steel-bodied Mr. 1, whom even Zoro struggled to beat.

Edward Low: Captain Edward “Ned” Low born around 1690 into poverty in London. His wife died in childbirth in late 1719. Two years later, he became a pirate He captained a number of ships, usually maintaining a small fleet of three or four, burned most of his captured ships, captured about 100. Remains notorious as one of the most vicious pirates of the age, a man of “amazing and grotesque brutality.” When in a rage he resorted to decapitated, burning people alive, forcing them to eat limbs he cut off, etc. he was never caught, ending his days in Brazil.

Eustace Monk: Born in 1170, studied black magic, lived in a monastery for awhile, then left to avenge his murdered father, burning the man’s property down. He then became a pirate in the English channel. Was outlawed at times by England and France, Started up a large band of pirates called the Eustace Brother. Made a home base on one of the channel islands. Would often turn against allies and kingdoms he was allied with.

William Kidd: Some historians argue that his piratical reputation unjust, as there is only evidence that Kidd was a privateer. Kidd’s fame springs largely from the sensational circumstances of his questioning before the English Parliament and the ensuing trial. He thought the ship he was taking was an enemy ship but it was not and so it was deemed piracy by the English and he was tried. As his trial ensued his friends deserted him. He was also accused of murdering his crew member when in truth the member was committing mutiny and Kidd was in the right. He is best known for being one of the only pirates to bury his treasure and did so before coming into port and being arrested as he did not want the Governor to have it. If it were not for his wealthy noble backers, who wished to remain anonymous at all costs and to distance themselves from Kidd in any way possible, his contacts probably would have saved him.

Samuel Bellamy: English pirate in early 18th century is crew captured at least 53 ships under his command. Bellamy became known for his mercy and generosity toward those he captured on his raids. He was part of a mutiny on Captain Hornigold’s ship, Hornigold left Marianne with his loyal followers, including Teach. The remaining 90-man crew then elected Bellamy as captain. He liked expensive clothes, especially black coats. His favorite weapons were four dueling pistols that he always carried in the sash. His captain rules were almost democratic. His crew liked him a lot and sometimes even called him “Robin Hood of the Sea”. Captain Bellamy was also a good strategist. His ship was quick and agile.

Dominique You: A French Privateer and Politician, You was falsely convicted of piracy in the gulf, but the Americans failed to capture him. He had reputation for being very bold and daring. He was pardoned by American for helping them in their war against Britain. He preyed on preyed on Spanish ships. Did meet up and work with Lafitte for a time.

D: Oioioioioioi, good day to you. Usopp’s got those “pop greens” and all, but what would he do if they ever ran out? P.N. Girls with short hair are the best ♡

O: Right. I’ve been getting this question a lot, for a while now. I thought about showing the answer in the actual comics, but I haven’t had that sort of chance. There’s actually a scene concerning this in the screenplay of the movie, “Film Z”, which comes out in December. Everyone was worried because what he shoots are seeds, right? But it’s alright. At the back of Sunny-Go, Usopp made a flower bed called “Usopp’s Garden” where he mass produces pop greens. There’s a scene in the movie where he’s spraying insecticide, so those of you who see it can confirm. I’d like to include something about it in the comic as well.

Francois L’Olonnais: (1635-1668) was a French buccaneer, pirate and privateer who attacked Spanish ships and towns in the 1660’s. His hatred for the Spanish was legendary and he was known as a particularly bloodthirsty and ruthless pirate. After two or three expeditions, the Governor of Tortuga gave him his own ship. L’Olonnais, now a captain, continued attacking Spanish shipping and acquired a reputation for cruelty so great that the Spanish often preferred to die fighting than to suffer torture as one of his captives.

Madame Cheng: She challenged the empires of the time, such as the British, Portuguese and the Qing dynasty. Undefeated, she would become one of China and Asia’s strongest pirates, and one of world history’s most powerful pirates. She was also one of the few pirate captains to retire from piracy. Ching Shih went back to Canton with her young son and opened a gambling house.

“Red Legs” Greaves: When he was a boy, his parents died in slavery the master shortly after,  and the orphaned boy was sold to another man who was claimed to have been violent and to have often beaten Greaves as a teenager. He escapes his servitude and successfully managed to swim across a bay stowing away on a what he thought was a merchant ship ship preparing to leave Barbados, it was a pirate ship. He signed up.Eventually became Captain, fought and beat the other captain.Greaves rewrote the Ship’s Articles, specifically prohibiting the mistreatment of prisoners and allowing the surrender of merchant captains during battle. Throughout the decade, Greaves found great success as well as gaining a reputation as an honorable captain widely known for his humane treatment of prisoners and never participating in the raiding of poor coastal villages. Greaves was able to retire from piracy and settled down to the life of a gentleman farmer.

Cutty Sark: A British Clipper ship she was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion. The Cutty Sark was destined for the tea trade, then an intensely competitive race across the globe from China to London. Cutty Sark was ordered by shipping magnate John Willis, who operated a shipping company founded by his father.This was a highly competitive price for an experimental, state-of-the-art vessel, and for a customer requiring the highest standards. Payment would be made in seven installments as the ship progressed, but with a penalty of £5 for every day the ship was late.

Blackbeard’s real name was Edward Teach he was called Thatch until he became Captain of his own pirate ship and created Blackbeard.

In One Piece Marshall D Teach, Thatch, and Edward Newgate (whitebeard) all trace back to Edward Teach, Blackbeard is know as Teach until he murders Thatch and leaves that name, becoming Blackbeard with the killing of Whitebeard no longer “Teach”
