NAMI

She is the first member of the Straw Hat Pirates to appear (in the anime), but the third to align herself with the crew, and the fifth to actually join. Possibly one of the best (or even the best) navigators currently sailing the Grand Line, she has the ability to recognize and analyze even the slightest changes in the weather through sheer intuition, thus saving the ship and the crew from the very unstable Grand Line weather on multiple occasions.

Nami has a tattoo on her left shoulder (a homage to her past), where she used to have a shark tattoo for being a member of Arlong’s Crew. The new tattoo represents mikan (a fruit commonly know as tangerine) and pinwheels

She respects Luffy’s qualities as a leader, but often gets angry of his irrational thinking and short attention span, even so she trusts him with her life. Despite the fact that Nami has deceived the crew, Luffy still trusts her enough to allow her to safe-keep his precious straw hat. She is almost always the one who gives orders on the ship (much to the Zoro’s resentment) because of Luffy’s usual lack of common sense. She often comically beats or hits her other crewmates for their nonsense, which occurs quite often. Robin is actually the only person Nami doesn’t try to boss, and she refered to her as the only person who understands her, though in a comical fashion. She is very manipulative as well and can even turn an entire conversation in her favor when necessary, often putting on disguses and tricking the enemy. Acting as the “mother” of the crew, Nami doesn’t understand or approve of the boys’ often macho attitudes and principles. These are the only situations where Nami doesn’t get the final word.

Nami’s two favorite things are money and tangerines. She is greedy and will do anything, aside from abandoning or killing her friends, for money. Due to her past – After having gathered money for 8 years (and even before that often stole things), Nami is naturally accustomed to it, but thinks of her friends as more important. She is very manipulative, and often takes advantage of Sanji for his devotion to her and Usopp to maintain her weapons. Roronoa Zoro tries not to fall for her schemes, but ends up a victim like the rest, usually due to debt and blackmail. Nami also tries to avoid fights, and is one of the less adventurous and brave members of the crew. However, since the invention of her Clima Tact (A weapon that forms weather patterns), she is now seen fighting her own battles instead of becoming the ‘easy target’, as she doesn’t want to be the one being saved anymore.

Sanji is the Chef of the Straw Hat Pirates. He’s a chivalrous fighter who loves women to an almost extreme degree. A top of the line chef who will never use his hands in a fight. He is a character who is obsessed with women and worships the females onboard the ship.

Sanji is tall and slender. He is most often formally dressed and wearing a tie. He is a top of the line cook that can make fine cuisine out of almost anything. Sanji is a rather cool personality. Though his love for beautiful women shows a drastically different side of himself. He’s quick to fall love sick for any woman he comes across.

His blond hair is always combed over his left eye and only been seen in rare anime episodes. He’s also sensitive about the spiraled shape of his eyebrow.

RORONOA ZORO

Roronoa Zoro is a sword fighter once known as the Pirate Hunter who joins the Straw Hat Pirates as first-mate and aims to become the world’s greatest swordsman to fulfill a childhood promise with his special three-sword style, Santoryu.

Zoro is a proponent of a self-created style called the Santouryu or the three sword style. With the Santouryu, Roronoa simultaneously uses three swords (one in each hand and one in his mouth) when fighting an opponent. Initially, Zoro started using two swords back when he was still a kid but after Kuina’s death and after having the Wadō Ichimonji passed on to him, he developed his three sword style. Although having the three sword style, Zoro also uses the Nitōryū or the two sword style and the Ittōryū or one sword style. Zoro is adept at using any of his styles, whether Ittōryū, Nitōryū or Santouryu.

Zoro’s agility, speed, and overall reflexes are also extraordinary; in numerous occasions, Zoro has shown being able to evade (or block) high-speed attacks and projectiles that would normally be impossible for an average human to perceive, much less intercept. He also has unreal strength, as seen in the fight against Mr. 1 where he literally throws a building at his opponent.

Eventually Zoro learns to hone the focus of his blade to cut through virtually any high density alloy such as steel. This ability only manifests after he comprehends the presence or “breath” of all things in nature. By controlling the intent of his blade to either kill or protect he can then determine what he ends up damaging. At first he can only achieve this focus with the single sword Lion’s Song stance but he later improves the technique to handle nine simultaneous slashes in his Ashurastance.

Through extreme physical and mental conditioning Zoro is able to make his sword slashes to fly through the air like projectiles. The underlying idea is that his muscle mass allows his blades to strike the air with such force that the attack pushes the wind into a cutting force. He begins mastering this technique in the Skypiea arc.

Zoro, being a swordsman, is always seen with three katanas at his side. Zoro has changed his swords throughout the series save for one: the Wadō Ichimonji. Zoro owns two of the 21 Great Edges and excellent grade sword as his weapons

A common mistranslation to Zoro’s swords is to add the word Meitou to the front of the names. Meitou is not a name, but shows a status of the blade. It shows that there is a history or tale behind the history of the sword. During his current adventures he uses the following swords:

1. Wadō Ichimonji (Kuina’s sword which had been passed down to Zoro)
2. Sandai Kitetsu (Supposedly a 3rd generation cursed sword)
3. Shuusui (Legendary sword gained from the zombie samurai Ryuuma)For one reason or another, Zoro has one or more of his swords destroyed or incapacitated in some way
   1. Yubashiri(destroyed on Enies Lobby by Shuu during the Buster Calll and now resting on Thriller Bark)
   2. Katana x2 (destroyed by Mihawk)

Moneky D. Luffy is the lead protagonist of the series One Piece that was created by Eiichiro Oda. He is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates with the powers of the Gum-Gum Fruit. He has the dream of becoming the next King of the Pirates. Not much has changed in the evolution of the character Luffy in the One Piece series. His basic design has remained the same, but with only subtle changes to his clothes. Originally, Luffy had always had his vests buttoned close, but later on it was always open and he was given a more lean muscular body. The color scheme has changed in his clothes with each story arc that followed the Davy Back Fight Arc, but the design remained the same. The greatest evolution for Luffy has been in the use of his Gum-Gum Devil Fruit powers, finding new and inventive ways to change the shape and increase the power with each new powerful foe. After the Thriller Bark Arc, a sleeping power was awakened in Luffy called Haki, but he would remain unaware of this talent for some time.

Luffy is short an rather skinny, but after a few years his shirt has tend to remain open showing an impressive set of abs. Despite his small size he is incredibly strong. He is rather stupid, but his kind and honest heart tends to win over all he comes across.

Luffy’s honest heart tends to win over most who are around him. Even when an opponent guesses his weakness to sharp objects he wont even hesitate to admit it. Luffy’s instincts have proven to be rather strong. In his battle against Mr. 3, Luffy’s instinct was able to find the true person out of all the wax duplicates. Luffy’s stupidity tends to make him hyper vulnerable to hypnotic effects. Even if they aren’t even aimed at him.

When Luffy was a child he ate the Gum Gum Fruit that Shanks brought back from the Grand Line, unaware of what it really was. His body took on the properties of rubber. This gives his entire body the consistency of rubber. Making him near immune to most blunt attacks. His body will just absorb most attacks, even bullets. Though he isn’t immune from cuts. He can also make his body stretch and mold to various shapes. Just to snap back. Luffy is often inspired by things he sees when creating new attacks. It’s normally up to chance if they work or backfire. All of Luffy’s attacks start with the prefix of “Gum Gum”.
